Okay, but what about the Monster? We're looking at a possible $10mil goaltending duo next year. Yikes!

Yeah but the Leafs have enough cap space to be able to do that - at this stage the Ducks do not.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

that also makes sense onthe ducks part as they do have 2 first rd picks thanks to that pronger deal, so if they trade theirs and keep phillys they will still have a decent pick. they will prob not resign vesa, as hiller is the man there and pogge is being developed, but it saves them 7 mill and with neidermeyer prob retiring hats another 6 and a bit mill so almost 14 million they will gain in cap room, for another stud d???? or ilya :) awsom deal for the ducks. toronto could use the pick, giggy i dont think is their answer

That ends this year, but they're going to be paying Darcy Tucker $1M a year until 2013-14.

Darren Millard of Sportsnet has Blake & Toskala to Anaheim for Giguere and a 1st.
Dreger of TSN has the same deal minus the 1st rounder and notes - Done!

That sucks a bit. Would have been nice to get that 1st rounder.

the second one makes no sense to me. its dollar for dollar almost...
i can see toronto doing anaheim a favour and taking salary for a pick. that opens up the ducks to do something large before the deadline or in the summer

The Ducks are also doing the Leafs a favour as Giguere could get them out of the bottom 2. So don't the favours cancel each other out

I'll take Giguere over Toskala. And good riddance to Blake.
