If I were DL and I got a call offering the 3 oil goalies for Quick, I laugh and hang up. Theres nothing we want from you unless its the #1 pick.

I don't know what DL would take to get Quick but it would have to be a pretty decent deal

i doubt it... if Edmonton offered a 3rd round pick for a guy that is expendable because Bernier is ready... it's going to be considered because DL has 0 leverage.

Ersberg is going nowhere until he hits UFA next season.

I think you are crazy for giving up on Quick after one season, but hey, more power to you. If you really think Bernier is the answer, send Quick and Simmonds to the Blackhawks for Huet and Sharp. You get a veteran backup for your untested goalie that everyone is so high on, and you get more scoring and veteran leadership up front with Sharp. What say you.

No. Never. God no. reason? no way in HECK is Simmonds ever leaving the Kings. He WILL be our captain one day. Guaranteed.

And it's not one season. This is Quicks 2nd. not a big difference but Quick is just too inconsistent and really if we have someone who is ready to be a consistent started who is just as good, if not better, in Bernier, why not trade Quick?

Kinda weird that a lot of goalies that are all stars, are or were in a slump. Such as Luongo, Quick, Price, Steve Maosn.
What I would do, is trade Quick for Steve Mason. Why? Because I think both goalies need a different team to play for. I think each goalie would fit in fine. Just my opinion. I know some people might disagree with me, but I just have a feeling that each goalie would be better off.

No. Steve Mason is overrated IMO. No reason to swap them. If we trade Quick, we want scoring or a star shutdown D ala Volchenkov.

Don't laugh and hang up. Respond with something like "Sure... want us to toss Anze Kopitar in too?"

    Then laugh and hang up.

In all seriousness, obviously a trade like that would never work. I just happen to hate all of our goalies, and really like Quick. If he really was available - and I can't imagine he will be - I hope Tambo would be checking in to see what it would take.

Dude I think that it might not happen this year but DL spent a 1st rounder on JB and a 2nd or 3rd on Quick. If they were both even in skill, he'd take quick 8 days of the week because he was drafted in the 1st PLUS he's younger. I would suspect Quick could be had; it would just have to be for a good package.

No. This isn't a situation where Quick was just here to fill in until Bernier is ready. The thing is is that there will be a legit goalie battle for the starting job. Having seen both play and following Bernier in the minors, I feel that Bernier will steal the starting job at some point, if not right out of camp. If a guy like Dominic Moore could fetch a 2nd, Leopold a 2nd, and Poni gets traded for Caputi or whoever, no way does Quick go for less than a 2nd plus a roster player. And we don't need picks.

OK - updated my post (#4)

I suspect Quick and Bernier share the load in 2010-11 - Ersberg will be sent to Manchester - He is making under a million so let him play in Manchester - He's a decent goalie and he could help if one gets injured - DONE!

    UFA
Fro - If DL can get him Cheap - Do it - maybe 3 years @ 3 Mil
Modin - I like Modin - Hopefully DL signs him for 2 years
Ivanans - SEE YA AND WOULDNT WANNA BE YA!!!!!
Jones - SEE YA AND WOULDNT WANNA BE YA!!!!!
OD - SEE YA AND WOULDNT WANNA BE YA!!!!!

Chris....I know you and I don't share the same feelings on Fro....but you gotta think he's gone. He had a terrible season statistically and it was a contract year. And he sucked in the playoffs besides his whole ONE goal in the last game.

I want David Booth from FLA. They're wheeling off everyone and everything they can and starting over from what I hear. We have prospects and picks to help them. I can't see a better fit for a deal between us.

but each of those deals were made in March, not during the Summer.

Look historically at deals that sent players to another team when they have depth... the return is not very good.

    Paille for a 4th
    Chipchura for a 4th

    just as a couple examples.

Isnt Booth the one that got SMACKED in the head.....not onec....but TWICE???
NO way - He is a hit away from retirement...me thinks....

Honestly, I dont expect him here next season but if I was GM, I would try and get him cheap - He is a 60pt player - scores 20-30 a seaon and although streaky, tends to draw penalties....plus I would hate to let him go for nothing...Maybe sign and then trade him....

BTW - 4 points in 6 playoff games was not bad - I watched him play and I thought the Stoll / Brown / Fro line played a solid game

I bet you we could probably trade Quick plus maybe decentish pick for Carter in Philly and they'd jump on it in a second. Quick is a valuable commodity. A good athletic young goalie. I'm going to make the comparisons forever. Quick is just like a young MAF. MAF won a cup. Nothing is stopping Quick from doing that in a few years but I just don't think he'll be with the Kings if he wins one

But they didnt win 39 games.....or even score 20 goals......there is some leverage in a 39 game winner.....

he won 39 games but (and lets say it) choked down the stretch. Was he over used, you bet... but if a team is going to invest a lot into a goalie, they want to be sure it's not a 1 year flash in the pan.

Honestly... I think he will be a solid goalie in the league but remember what the quackers got for Bryzgalov... i'm just saying
