Okay...lets get something straight here. A two way contract does NOT mean someone can just be sent down without having to face waivers. A two way contract means that a player has a salary for the NHL level and a separate salary for the minors. One way contract means that person makes that money regardless of where he is. Now I believe waivers don't kick in until a certain date so Ersy would have to be sent down before a certain date (not sure of the date). To be exempt from waivers is based on your age. Just want to make sure people realize that.

ok, next Kings topic...the kids. what do we do with the following prospects? where do they play next year? do they fit in DL's plans or will they be moved?
i'm only going to comment on the guys i know something about...
Centers
Azevedo - undersized scorer, AHL next year
Cliche - hasn't lived up to billing, AHL next year
Elkins - didn't look bad with Kings for a few games - AHL next year
Gauthier - he can go
Loktionov - he will be with the Kings eventually, start next year in AHL
Mikus - ?
Moller - moving to wing, hopefully to the left side as we are short on prospects there
Pelech - ?
Westgarth (lakings.com has him listed at center?) - ivanans with a little skill/13th forward in NHL next year
Czarnik - ?
Dowd - ?
Nolan - ?
Schenn - maybe with Kings next year. can't play in AHL so if he plays well in camp he could be with the big club.
Roe - ? nice stats in college
LW
Clune - 4th liner next year maybe
Holloway - don't know much about him other than he scored 4 GWG in playoffs. dont' think he'll make the big club next year
King - ?
Meckler - ? doesn't look like much of a scorer
Clifford - i know a lot of folks like him - tough with a scoring touch.
Kozun - looking forward to seeing what he can do against better competition. hoping to lights up the AHL next year if he's eligible.
Wudrick - ?
RW
Lewis - might have run out of chances at this point...
Parse - good rookie season if he can stay out of TM's doghouse. reminds me of o'sullivan a bit in that he has scoring touch but not the motor he needs.
Rheault - ?
Zeiler - can he please go now?
Vey - ?
D-men
Muzzin - would love to see what he can do in a full year in Manchester
Bagnall - ?
Campbell - ?
Hickey - needs a full year in Manchester
Kolomaitis - ?
Martinez - trade bait. don't think he ranks in top 3 of d prospects. if we can move him i think we should.
Mullen - ?
Piskula - i guess let's see if he develops more but not too excited about him.
Voynov - NHL next year to replace Jones
Teubert - give him at least a full year in Manchester before we do anything with him.
Deslauries - ?
Goalies
Berube - shares time with Zatkoff next year in AHL
Zatkoff - starter in Manchester next year
Jones - anyone know if he's eligible for another year in juniors?

i'll go purple for obvious reasons - just remember, we need to have a full team in Manchester. some of these guys may never make the big club but you have to have 3rd and 4th line players and 5th and 6th d-men in the minors.
ok, next Kings topic...the kids. what do we do with the following prospects? where do they play next year? do they fit in DL's plans or will they be moved?
i'm only going to comment on the guys i know something about...
Centers
Azevedo - undersized scorer, AHL next year. AHL for sure.
Cliche - hasn't lived up to billing, AHL next year agreed
Elkins - didn't look bad with Kings for a few games - AHL next year agree but he will be near the top to get a call next year
Gauthier - he can go garbage. bye
Loktionov - he will be with the Kings eventually, start next year in AHL quite frankly, assuming we don't move stoll and schen isn't on the team and fro is gone (all are likely), Lokti could be 2nd line LWer. And you KNOW I want that can he play wing? i'd like to see him get a full year in Manchester but if he lights it up early we could definitely use the scoring.
Mikus - ? He was okay. Still an AHLer. Maybe get a call next year to see what he has at an NHL level. but for sure needs another year adjusting to the NA game
Moller - moving to wing, hopefully to the left side as we are short on prospects there I want to trade him while he still has value not sure he has too much value right now. he's had nearly a full season in the NHL will not much production. i'd like to see what he can do on the wing. he's still young, unless he suffers a major injury he'll retain value. he needs to fill out a bit.
Pelech - ? no input from me
Westgarth (lakings.com has him listed at center?) - ivanans with a little skill/13th forward in NHL next year As i've said a million times, he will swap in and out on 4th line LW with clune
Czarnik - ? lots of potential. Played LW on the top line for Plymouth with Seguin. I don't like the kid since he left michigan and I love michigan ooh, i like him even more now. Go Bucks!
Dowd - ? guarantee you we don't ever sign him
Nolan - ? could develop in to a good 4th line player at best
Schenn - maybe with Kings next year. can't play in AHL so if he plays well in camp he could be with the big club. 9 games with the big boys then right back to juniors i feel the same about him as with Loktionov. if he lights it up, let him play. but only if he's a productive 2nd line player. not worth paying him $3M to play 4th line or not be productive.
Roe - ? nice stats in college no info from me
LW
Clune - 4th liner next year maybe change maybe to for sure not sure i like him yet - jury is still out for me on him.
Holloway - don't know much about him other than he scored 4 GWG in playoffs. dont' think he'll make the big club next year guy is for SURE one of my new favorite prospects. He has a shot at making it. Don't doubt him Dave. He's at the top of my list for callups if he can score he'll have a shot as we need some scoring on the left side.
King - ? 4th line center at best
Meckler - ? doesn't look like much of a scorer bye bye
Clifford - i know a lot of folks like him - tough with a scoring touch. He could end up being the LW version of simmonds i think he needs at least one more year before he gets the call - but again, we could use some help on the left side
Kozun - looking forward to seeing what he can do against better competition. hoping to lights up the AHL next year if he's eligible. He's AHL eligible. No shot for him next year. Sorry but he needs a year or two of AHL level play yeah, definitely one year in AHL and go from there.
Wudrick - ? <3<3<3. Pretty similar to clifford with maybe a bit less skill
RW
Lewis - might have run out of chances at this point... TRADE HIM! he's RFA so they probably won't offer a contract. can't really trade him.
Parse - good rookie season if he can stay out of TM's doghouse. reminds me of o'sullivan a bit in that he has scoring touch but not the motor he needs. Trade him too. too inconsistent he's RFA too
Rheault - ? who?
Zeiler - can he please go now? What you said
Vey - ? Think Kozun but more of a coward and not as good offensively
D-men
Muzzin - would love to see what he can do in a full year in Manchester He will be in Manch. Good prospect they should have a good d in Manchester. would make a nice pairing with Hickey.
Bagnall - ? no info
Campbell - ? Kings love this dude for some reason. He's a project though
Hickey - needs a full year in Manchester and with no injuries
Kolomaitis - ? not too well aware of him
Martinez - trade bait. don't think he ranks in top 3 of d prospects. if we can move him i think we should. what you said
Mullen - ? trade him
Piskula - i guess let's see if he develops more but not too excited about him. dude he's worthless now. get rid of him don't think we could really get anything for him. he's that 5th-6th d-man that plays in AHL as long as he's willing.
Voynov - NHL next year to replace Jones To me he's a lock for the team
Teubert - give him at least a full year in Manchester before we do anything with him. no. at least two years at least one year and see how he does. he might need more. seems to me the kind of guy that will take a few years to get it but when he does he could be a force. we have enough d-men in the system that we can afford to be patient with him.
Deslauries - ? one of my favorite D prospects beside Voinov. Tons of skill and potential.
Goalies
Berube - shares time with Zatkoff next year in AHL Has another year in juniors dude. But I love him as a project goalie - he played in Manchester this year - are you sure he's eligible for juniors?
Zatkoff - starter in Manchester next year He'll be the starter in Manch for sure with Jones backing him up
Jones - anyone know if he's eligible for another year in juniors? He will be backing up Zatty in Manch. Don't be surprised if he's starting by the end of the season i'm excited to see him play on a team that's not dominant. his junior team was awesome - let him play with a team with little scoring like Manchester and see what he can do.

If Berube played in the AHL, it was because his season was over and it was late in the season. Berube for SURE has junior elgibility still. He was an 09 pick so I think he can have two more years in juniors

so here's what i think as far as how i would rate the Kings prospects by position...not for next year but long-term value to the Kings
C - overloaded - could use a couple of these guys as bait
Schenn - future 3rd line center (replace Handzus)
Loktionov - future 2nd line center (replace Stoll)
Moller - probably traded but could be converted to a wing as we have very few RW prospects.
Cliche - one more year to see what he has although he's RFA so he could be gone
Elkins - not sure there will be on place on the Kings unless Schenn or Loktionov get traded or if he moves to a wing. also RFA this year
LW - couple of good players coming in a year or two
Kozun - the scoring potential we need - hopefully he can prove he can do it at the next level.
Clifford - grit + scoring touch. future 3rd line LW
Holloway - if he scores clutch goals like he is now then he needs a shot
Clune - doesn't look like he can be much more than a 4th line wing. useful but not too valuable. RFA this year as well.
RW - no real prospects here - maybe Moller gets move to RW
Parse - 3rd line max out with Parse. RFA this year
Lewis - i think he's on his way out. RFA this year
Vey - not sure what we have here
D - really like our prospects here. we are going to be paying a lot of $ to doughty/johnson/scuderi/greene. we're going to need some cheap options on the back end.
Hickey - hope he can stay healthy as we need him on the #2 pp
Voynov - he could help out next year
Teubert - needs at least a year or two to see what we have.
Muzzin - very interesting. seems like the Kings will need to make a decision on him sooner than later.
Deslauries - don't know much
Martinez - not sure he has the high end potential as some of the guys above him. don't see any way he plays much with the big club. trade bait?
G
Bernier - The Future is Now
Jones - want to see what he can do in AHL
Zatkoff - don't know if he'll ever see the NHL with the Kings unless we move Quick
Berube - a few years away still. if he shows potential it will probably get him traded.

Berube>Zatkoff if you're talking potential.

look at the current roster...
C
Kopitar - here for the long term
Handzus - one more year on contract. probably leaves after next year.
Stoll - two more years on contract - could be traded this offseason if DL thinks Schenn is ready.
Halpern - UFA and probably not getting re-signed
LW
Frolov - UFA and unlikely to return unless his contract demands are much less than expected.
Smyth - here for another 2 years. not going anywhere next year at least.
Modin - UFA but hopefully will be re-signed to a one-year deal.
Ivanans - UFA - see you later.
RW
Brown - here for a while
Simmonds - one more year on deal and then re-signed to long-term deal
Williams - one more year on deal - could be traded in offseason but i would let him play it out as i don't think we could get much for him coming off another injury.
Richardson - RFA would like to see him get a 3 year/$4M contract. that would more than double his salary and he deserves it.
D
Doughty - needs to be a King forever. will be re-signed sometime in the next 12 months to a Duncan Keith type deal
Johnson - one more year - would like to see him locked up to a longer-term deal as well before he has a breakout season.
Scuderi - three more years so he's all set
Greene - four more years
O'Donnell - UFA could retire, could come back for another year.
Drewiske - signed for 3 more years for very, very cheap.
Harrold - one more year for almost nothing
G
Quick - under a great contract for 3 more years
Ersberg - one more year on his deal but will probably go to Europe or be traded
