i would say strasburg will give heyward a run for his money for roy...but also a great sleeper pick that just got called up, mike stanton of the marlins....might turn some heads with him enormous potential. i think the roy will come from either strasburg, heywayd, mike stanton or ike davis. just my 2 cents worth..

I think Heyward and Leake will be 1-2 in the NL.

Strasburg i don't even put in the discsussion, he needs 13 wins atleast especially with Heyward on pace for 100 RBIs and 20+ HRs..

In the AL Matusz has an ERA of over 5, he wont win or be in the discussion, same for Davis...

Jackson has cooled off big time and Boesch continues to rake, i'd go with Boesch at this point, hitting .340, 6 HRs and 28 RBIs and he missed the first 3 weeks!

I may be wrong but I think a pitcher can win the roy if he has pitched at least 50 innings or something close to that, so I say Strasburg is def in the hunt if he pitches around seven more games like he did last night. The Nats watching his pitch count may play in to his total innings also.

That wasn't really my arguement against him, its more so that he missed the first 2 months of the season, Heyward has done very well (even with his June struggles) and pitchers typically need atleast 13 wins to get into the discussion...he can go 8-2 with an ERA of 2.50 but if Heyward goes 20+ HRs 100 RBIs like he's on pace to do, then Strasburg will have virtually no chance

i wouldnt say matusz and davis numbers are horrid, but put matusz on the yankees and he would be atleast 6-2. kinda sucks he [plays for a team that doesnt have an offense right now though. i would say boesch is roy in the al right now, heyward for the nl if he can bring up the average over 275 for the year.

His ERA is 5, and his opponents batting average is right near .300, even on the Yankees, that wouldnt change the fact he has a high ERA, it'd just put him in a ballpark where its incredibly hitter friendly

Ok, fair enough, Ive just never heard of a pitcher needing a set number of wins, only innings. It may help, but with Stasburgs performance last night and possibly continuing a similar pace I say he has a shot, thats all.

I forgot Stanton. If he would win the Marlins would have the last years winner in coghlan and Stanton this year. We'll see what he can do, but if he lives up to the potential it can be a five man race and no one can be disappointed with the outcome.
    Davis
    Stanton
    Heyward
    Leake
    Strasburg
    Ely
