Question Upper Deck Censoring Me? WTH? Ridiculous......

Man, they must think I David and I am going to bring down their company with one lucky strike!

They have deleted a post of mine on their blog and today on their facebook page.

Here are my comments so far, am I being unfair?

"You have deleted ANOTHER post of mine? Why? because I called you out on The Cup checklist not being up in a timely fashion, much like the product being delayed? This is getting comical.

I'll be honest, your checklist should be posted at least a few weeks prior to release to give collectors some insight and help make informed decisions on actual content before they plunk down hard-earned money on a product. That means getting things done in a timely fashion to allow for this."

    And this one

"Shame on someone over at UD and/or the UD blog.

I give you credit where due and as well as constructive criticism for
other things with regard to 09-10 Cup product and you DELETE my
    comment from your blog?

Talk about unethical and freedom of speech being a waste of time..............read on below

If you want to be top dog in this hobby you need to accept your shortcomings and work harder to be progressive.

Turning something annually from a single version, to double, to triple, to quad is predictable and stale. (Next year, triple Prog...ramme of Excellence? Or perhaps you'll milk the duals another year?)

Bring your "A" game and do something off the charts, or, if you are content with mediocrity and being predictable, at least step it up to a level where it should be.

Am I really that far off in my assessment of where you should be and where you need to go? You have incredible technology that produces cards with stellar designs but you must stop being so stagnant and redundant in the themes and sets themselves.

Ican probably run off your entire product lineup for the next 10 years with minor tweaks. The lack of ingenuity is pretty weak to me. I don't like knowing what to expect each and every year.

Hopefully more people will demand more from you, hold you to a higher standard and all collectors will be the beneficiaries of this.

I should hope you don't delete this comment as well. ;)

Thank you for your time and listening, I look forward to what the future might have in store for collectors of your NHL products."

their blog and facebook pages are marketing tools where they can reach out and connect with their customers. no company in their right mind would let any negativity (even if it is true and constructive) adversely affect their marketing.

I hear what you're saying brother K but c'mon man, do you see my side of this? Do you agree that if they want to be the best they need to face the music good AND bad?

Yah, this makes total sense. Don't expect to see this change any time soon either.

I hear you, but my hearing isn't the issue. Over the years, if I've learned anything about UD, its that they don't want to hear and/or acknowledge the bad. The times when they have, they act as though the admission itself was bad.

Barrie they dont do well with criticism or negative publicity. When they counterfeited as the Yu-Gi-Oh cards they blamed everything on Konami. When they printed double printing plates in 07-08 they blamed the printing company. Its too bad too becuase it looks like they are doing a better job with replacements and with less redemptions. If only they would be more innovative than they may grab the collector's trust again.

This one, I think, you're going a step too far, but only a step.

Freedom of speech doesn't apply to a private website owned by a private company.

Freedom of speech applies to an individual's liberty to voice one's opinion without fear of censure or suppression by the government. You can walk into your town square and scream bloody blue murder about Upper Deck - the police won't arrest you and nobody from the government will stop you or suppress your ability to express whatever emotions you feel about them.

Now, that said....there's not a lot of "constructive" going on in a lot of that latter comment, just a lot of criticism. And that's understandable to a degree given the frustration that a lot of us have over some products, as well as being compounded by having previous posts that may have been much more constructive removed. They've done it to others that have been critical of them, so really it's more about keeping it a positive, yay we're Upper Deck and we're great page. At least on the main page. They've let some people just go off in some of the discussion posts. But it's all about how you frame it that'll determine whether or not they leave up a post that they view as valid & constructive criticism, or take it down because there's not enough constructive to go along with it. Like the fella above me said, it is their marketing tool page so to have someone getting on their case about the checklist doesn't help them out any.

That is true, but they've gotten accustomed to being the only big kid in the sandbox so the times are a-changing for them.

oh i definitely hear what you're saying. there's a time and a place though and a site where they're promoting their stuff isn't it. unfortunately, you'll probably never find out the time nor place or for that matter, someone to listen to you.
