It's definitely a good thing that Panini's got the Prime certification system in place. I mean, really, if you've already dropped a couple hundred bucks on a high-end patch card, what's another $10 to make sure that's totally legit? I really do nice like that system - I hope that I never have to use it obviously, but if I do at least I know it works.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

It's still sad to believe all these measures are being thought about, why the heck can't losers just stop changing the patches. Now everytime I see a sick patch I have to think of if it is fake or not. Probably the main reason I don't collect game used..

Upper Deck should just do what they did for some cards in UD Black, and their older Ice products. Encase the card, including the memorabilia portion in the acetate cover. As far as I know, removing the acetate, faking a patch and reinserting the acetate is not that easy.

Scanning every patch that matches the Serial Number, and keeping a record of each patch on file would not be that costly to a card company. There is no price too high to maintain your professional integrity. I don't think UD cares.
If they cared, they would hand deliver Redemption Autos to the player, and then have the player sign all of them over the course of an hour before they left. Why they send cards out, only to risk having them damaged or the player not signing or taking 2 years to do so, boggles my mind.
Bad R & D prior to marketing.Last edited by centrehice; 01-04-2011 at 05:16 PM.

ITG slabbing their cards is a good way to do it, but it wouldnt be that expensive to do PICTURES of each card and do a database like someone said, it actually probably wouldnt take more than a couple days for just the patch cards, all you do is take a pic and put the serial number of the card in the picture and done

Agreed, even superlative seals can be taken off and put back on. G/U has become a joke to me, the only piece I will keep in my PC is a Beliveau Autothreads. To many scum bags ruined it for me.

They should design it so that when you remove the original patch/jersey it ruins the entire card. Just have stronger glue or what not. When you remove it, it wrecks/breaks the card.
The card is essentially worthless when its "patch forged" so a "self-destruct" function is what is needed.
