Awful performance against the Ducks tonight. Only 12 shots which is downright pathetic...

Oil Change wasn't too exciting either. All they talked about was being close in games and putting in an effort(which is ironic based on tonights game). Hopefully we get a viewing of the Tambellini's discussion on trade deadline day next episode.

Anybody else watching the game on Sportsnet? The feed is terrible tonight...

Hemsky to the kings chatter is beginning to increase. Talks about simmonds and a top defenceman prospect. I want to hear a kings fans opinion on this

NTY dog. We'll give you a 1st, and take your choice of Hickey or Teubert. They're both absolute scrubs.

I'd be surprised if Simmonds is involved in any deal. Tough, hits hard, can chip in the odd goale. No doubt the Oilers could use that kind of player - but with the Kings going on a playoff run (at least in theory) that's the kind of player they're going to need.

I don't imagine the Oilers would make a deal though, for just a 1st + Hickey or Teubert. Going to be a 3rd asset added to it, or I'm sure they'd just walk away.

(Either that, or swap out the 1st for Schenn...... but then I'm sure it'd be a no-go for the Kings)

    Schenn goes nowhere. Ever.

If they ask nicely, I bet Toronto would give up Kessel, two 1sts, and a 2nd :)

I'm quite confident that neither Hemsky or Penner goes anywhere.
Tambi was interviewed today saying the will be open to offers, but they will not be deviating from the rebuild plan. I'm quite certain both players are part of the 11-12 season.

If there are any moves for the Oil to strongly consider, I would hope Gilbert's ridiculous contract goes to the top of the list, but I doubt there will be any takers.

Yup. Gilbert, Horcoff, Khabibulin - no matter what you think of them, those guys are going nowhere.

Don't get me wrong. I don't think they're going to move one for the sake of moving him. It's got to be a '3 asset' or one 'Super Asset' kind of dea. They would be stupid not to make a move for a guy like Zach Bogosian.... if that's realy on the table. At the same time, they'd be stupid to take a deal that gets them a 1st round pick (that's 20th or later) and a pospect that hasn't come close to cracking an NHL roster in 3 years.

Thing is though - both of them have their contracts expiring after 11-12 season. If Tambo doesn't think he'll resign one of them...... yes he still has a year to shop them around, but the return will be a lot better right now.

I was at the game yesterday, and was very impressed with Chorney. He looked a lot more comfortable out there than he did last year. I guess winning the fastest skater and scoring his first goal boosted his confidence a la Michael Grabner(but quite that much lol)

The thing with Hemsky and Penner is, are they going to be part of the rebuild past the 11-12 season? Tambellini has probably asked them both this question already. My gut feeling is that they said no, but I wouldn't know. However, if that's the case then he would need to get some assets in return for them, and their value is higher right now than it would be next season since they're not rental players.

Do I want them stay long term? Yes, but do they? Who knows?
