It was reported that the Celtics offered 4/30. Perkins said that was not the case. He said he was only offered 4/22 and 30 million over 4 years would be way different.

See the issue is

A) big men get played, but Perkins isnt a scrub, he's a great defensive player.

B) Jeff Green isn't a backup, he was starting for the Thunder

C) Green is gonna ask AND get starters money..

There is a reason Jeff Green isn't on the Thunder still and its because he wanted more money than OKC could afford to give him, he's certianly not gonna take less to play in Boston.

Green isnt a center hes a foward. This was a brilliant move. It oughens the Western conference making it harder to advance. Plus OKC would have easily beaten LA last year with a center.

Celtics can put Pierce at guard with Allen at point and have Shaq, KG, Green, Pierce and Allen on the court at the same time. They are going to be very physical and dominant inside. Then bring in Rondo and Big Baby and you got troubles in a major way. They have just become very versitile team.

The Celtics created matchup problems when they are on defense now..can you really expect Shaq to play any more than 20-25 minutes? The move hurt them short and longterm because they cant resign Green..it won't work

Boston did not get worse. Perkins has been a non factor all season. He just came back and the Celtics started to slide. I have many of their games this year and es SHaq fits perfect with all those veterans. Everyone on that team knows their role.

If you watched the finals last year Perkins got played. He couldn't do anything against Bynum because of his size. Shaq wont have that problem.

And he's gonna want the same money regardless that he's a Celtic now, I just don't get why everyone seems to be forgetting they can't afford Green, they gave up a big piece to the teams success for Jeff Green who'll come off the bench and Nenad Kristic who is incredibly soft from everything i've heard.

Nothing still true. Bottom line Perkins hasn't been a factor this year.
The Celtics are much more physical with Shaq and Big Baby in the game then with Perkins.
Basically not only is Shaq a better fit for the C's he makes big baby that much better. Together they are to much to handle. You can handle Davis with Perkins in the game not with SHaq. Havent you seen Davis go off for 10 points in a row with Shaq out their? He cant do that with Perkins.
There is no way they didnt drastically improve their tema with this move.
