well what do you know...you are close..lol about 30 minutes or less...well we could save on postage...lol have tons of patriots too....im in process of sorting now..started when i joined this forum a few months back...it is a long task but im having fun doin it when i get the chance....i found some sleeper cards too and that really makes it fun...it gets hard remembering who you have with a basement full of cards... i have a daughter who is autistic and i donate all my commons to an autistic group in roanoke..(these kids love em)(last time i did it i wrapped up thousands to give to the kids and i though i would have too much)(but over 350 kids showed up and i barely had enough..lol i think i bundled 50-75 cards per bundle...they absolutely loved them and they were a hit..the director of the event emailed me this week and asked if i could do it again and of course i said yes..it is very fulfilling ..i love it... they are having a project lifesaver autism extravaganza in roanoke on june 25th at the roanoke police academy if you would be interested in donating your commons...i will reward ya with some good patriot cards if you can get to roanoke before then ..pm me when you get a chance and i can fill ya in...

i love collecting base cards. most of my collection is base. even tho i get psyched when i get a gu or auto, but its not a big deal to me. when i get a gu or auto i mostly trade it for my reggie miller or derrick rose cards that i dont already own. with one gu or auto i can get atleast 20 to 50 reggie miller base depending on how good is the gu. so im base all the way. i think gu is killing the base collection. now they are throwing gu's in every card company. i remember when getting gu's in a pack was rare. now they are everywhere. pretty soon they are going to put peices of hair/skin and blood stained jerseys on cards. lol and gu's are gonna become a base type card. just my two cents

I still enjoy base cards and imo people that only collect gu/auto cards have lost the whole point in collecting sport cards and are probly in the hobby just to make money, bahah suckers dont know that they spent more money then they actualy made.

I collect base rookies, kobe, lebron, jordan, oj simpson and walter payton cards. I don't even deal with jersey cards unless it is of a rookie, auto or player I collect. If not I put them up for trade on here.

I like base of the players and teams I collect as well as any MVP, star, HOF'r or otherwise noteworthy player. Its about being a fan, not the resale value. But I don't really care about bench players for teams I don't like.

I think people got turned off of base because of the mass production in the 90's and the fact that complete sets aren't worth $5 in some cases. Even though I never planned to sell, its still disheartening to know my collection from the late 80's and 90's is worthless. At the time I had hoped that they could be something of value I could pass down to my son and grandson.

Something tells me the same thing will happen in 10 years from the mass production of GU/autos these days. Inserts, #'d and parallel cards used to be a tough pull, now every pack has one it seems.
