I think the rainbow it more special, but you could really get some value if you pulled all the prints of a #/50 card. A year or two down the road yuo'd see some set collector bouncing off the walls for one....

Rainbow for me as well. I have limited funds and my goal originally was to get one of every card serial #'d /25 or more (only need 7 more). Then i made a huge deal for about 16 cards /10 or under. My goal became one of every card. I know with my luck that the second i buy a double of something an expensive card i need will pop up and i wont be able to afford it.

The collector in me says hit the rainbow. If I could knock out - for example - a Tyler Myers YG, YG-EX, YG-HG, and all the printing plates for it, I think that would be one hell of an accomplishment.

The investor in me says take the print run. If you're running with all /xx copies of a card, you control the market - or at least as much as it can be controlled - if you want to relinquish any of them at any point. It's also quite an accomplishment when you consider that there's a lot of unopened product out there, plus the odds of actually finding all the other people who get a copy, and convincing them to part with it.

In reality... I think I like the challenge of completing a print run more than a rainbow. Not to mention that if you're smart about it, you can complete a print run without totally breaking the bank, where a rainbow means hunting down 1/1s and SSPs .. the kind of thing people KNOW they can cash in on.

I would have to go with the rainbow, because I am a collector and one of the fun things about collecting is helping another collector get a card they what for their PC. If I owned all 25 copies of a card then other collectors could not have a some what easy card to get. To go along with the whole idea of controlling the market on it, I am sure you would have to pay dearly for a few when other collectors realize that you are hoarding them. Look at the supple and demand going on with the SP Parkhurst 06-07 autos.

I am trying to go after whole print runs of late.Like 07-08 BAP Gold autos #/15 of kiprusoff.I have 7 of the 15 so far. With the new 09-10 Between the pipes Number and Emblem auto cards # out of 6.I currently have 3 of the 6 of both the emblem and number auto cards. The only downfall with trying to get a whole print run is that as a product gets older and less cracked it get really difficult to find the cards that you are after.Like the 07-08 BAP Autos in the first 6 months of the product being out I found 7 of them but in the last year I haven't found one of them. For me it is about searching and seeking down the next one for the print run.Something different to do in my collecting ways. When I start getting bored of it I will take collecting for the pc in a new direction. Its all about keeping the hobby interesting for me.Good luck on what ever you choose to do.Just do what you think will be more fun and interesting for you.Everyone has a different way of keeping the hobby fun for themselves.
