It will definately cost him less than $9 to ship the cards BUT I have seen worse on ebay some where the seller wont even combine at all and hit you with the $3 per card :(.

if i bought 5 cards from someone and they tried to do that to me, they would get 5 negs. see how they like that.

May be overpriced. But when you bid you agree to pay w/e shipping fees are listed in the auction.

I generally try to ask if they combine shipping, if they don't, to hell with them. There's no reason why they shouldn't. With that said, I'd love for eBay to get a shipping limit on cards like they did on CDs. If they think they need $3 to ship something that costs $1.22 to ship because the card would go cheap, then they don't deserve my business..

Nope, the ebay policy CLEARLY states what "handling" is, and it doesn't cover"i need to make up for selling the cards for so little"

Flat out IT IS AGAINST THEIR POLICY

That said, Take your lump, pay the cost, then give him 5 negs.....
    He more than deserves it.

That is excessive for shipping WE ALL KNOW THIS.

But, if he stated his shipping costs in his auction then i think it would be unfair of you to leave negative feedback. If all the auctions you won were $3.00 shipping, you should be happy you got a discount at all honestly.

However, you can always leave him less stars for "reasonable shipping" under the rating system.

Disagree, He admitted to using it as an excuse for not getting what he wanted for the cards to begin with, if he wanted $2.00 per card, he should have listed it for $2.

It CLEARLY states that Handling charges are not to be used to make up for lost profits in the agreement all of us make when we sign up for ebay.
By saying "it's makes up for my loss" he broke policy, and should get the negs.

As I stated before, lesson learned for me. I should have asked first.

I honestly don't mind "handling" charges, as long as they are within reason. I usually charge between $2.50-3.25 for my own auctions, of course depending on what it is for....I also pack a bubble mailer inside another bubble mailer for maximum protection though. And, 9 times out of 10 that includes delivery confirmation which is around 75 cents, IIRC. In fact, I shipped out 10 packages today, and they were all in the $2.75-$3 neighborhood. I think I had 1 that was over $3, and that was bc there were 3 cards with magnetics in it (4 total bubbles....I know, overkill).

Until about 5 minutes ago, I was gung-ho for 5 negative feedbacks, but I think I might stick to neutrals with a low rating in the shipping charge category.

We'll see how well they're packed, if DC was applied, etc.

Then again this is why I want to leave negatives. Here was his exact quotes after I questioned the charges:

    "Dear straight_cash_homie,

I DONT KNOW WHAT TO TELL YOU "

    And then:

"wow its 12.47 for 5 cards that are still worth well over that get out of here ..."

Sorry about his lack of grammatical skill.
