i enjoy collection, when i get something good i get a great sense of accomplishment because i never buy or pull that good stuff, the thrill of the trade and improving my collection feel good
however, for a while, this was my only purpose in life, i had no friends so this was the only thing i cared about...actually im still a loner, but cards arent life or death for me anymore

I just like to collect the cards. I mean I guess you could say part is for investment....years from now I will probably sell them.

You are like a mirror image of me. Right down to having no friends and being a loner. I still don't have any friends.
I don't pull real good stuff very often but when I do I get all excited. That is what it is all about. I still have yet to get that one big, collections defining pull. My best was the 2003 Topps Pujols Autograph which I traded.

I collect because I love baseball and like to have stuff of my favorite players. I mean, I was a freshman at Maryland when Juan Dixon led the Terps to a national championship, so I feel like the cards of his that I have are like a reminder of that.
Plus I think I have a non-sexual crush on him. :p
p.s. The video avatars suck.

The main reason I do it is because about 2 years ago, my Dad and I found his old card collection from the 60's and 70's. He has about 300 cards, and all them together equals close to 6,000 dollars or more. Ever since then, I want to have a collection to show my kids when I get older. Hopefully i'll hook them the weay my Dad hooked me :)

LOL.......this sounds like an AA meeting!!!
I'm Lefty....and I'm a collector. :D I've done this for over 20 years now. I know, I know...some of you out there aren't even that old yet. YIKES!!! Anyways, I've been a diehard baseball fan since I was in diapers. I've got pics to prove it. :D Sports is a bond my Dad and I share that is priceless. Card collecting, for me, is a way of getting close to my favorite players. It's something I plan on passing down to my daughter when she's old enough to appreciate it.

You have been collecting for the same amount of time I have been alive. I have been going for 11 years this fall.
