Shoot they made Ice in Las Vegas in September of '91 - Kings vs. Rangers exhibition game. I'll bet they could do it anywhere... but the quality of the ice would be suspect and the nostalgic feel of outdoor hockey in the cold would not be a part.
The Steelers are home ont the 23rd of December then away in Cleveland on the 2nd. Unless they make the playoffs and have home field advantage they wont be needing the field too soon. Takes some time to set that up.

Guys you need to remember the NHL is a business. They want max profits. Colorado vs. Minnesota won't happen unless both teams become very good and I don't see the Wild doing that. They need to get great television ratings and that matchup won't do it. You have to expect for these big market, popular teams to be in it year in and year out.
That being said, I really think a Calgary vs Edmonton would be awesome. Not only because I will be in Calgary but because they are bitter rivals. I probably won't watch the WC because its not a huge appeal to me but I might watch it just to see what the atmosphere of pittsburgh is

Also, they need to stop marketing the same players. Yes, they bring interest. But it is the same players. They need to market more players. I know it may shock people, and it shocks the NHL, but there are more than 2 players in the NHL. Look at the NBA. Arenas fill up for Kobe and Lebron. But that is it.

Saturday night isn't a good time to play a hockey game, according to NBC. We silly Canadians may have been doing it for decades, but NBC knows best.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

NBC is the worse cable network. What, they are going to show some reruns of ER or something? My goodness.
