My .02, make sure you ask if any classes are only offered occasionally. Some classes are only offered every other semester or every 3rd semester. You need to be aware of what they are so you can watch for them and take them when they are available. Many colleges are cutting costs by eliminating instructors. As a result not every class is offered every semester.
Good luck at Kent!
P.S. - I started at a CC as well. Not everyone can live down the street from a major college or university. If it wasn't for community colleges there would be a lot less people out there with degrees.

Congrats, Kent St. is a wonderful college to get accepted into. I myself graduated from Kentucky but had several friends who went to Kent and loved it.
My only advice is if you ever see the National Guard there, consider skipping class.

Congrats on Kent. That school has quite the civil rights history.
I did college a bit of the backa$$ward way. Here's how it went:
University of Puget Sound (Tacoma, WA) out of HS. The campus is amazing (if you've seen the movie Prefontaine, it was filmed there). However, Tacoma is not my favorite town. It was a private liberal arts school and after 2 years it became just too expensive and being liberal arts, there weren't many degrees that were going to land me a job out of school. So after my sophomore year it was on to...
Portland State University (Portland, Oregon) - State school, much more affordable. It is located smack in downtown Portland which I loved. It's very much a commuter school so not necessarily ideal for a kid out of HS wanting the "college experience". However, I loved it. I started out with a criminal justice degree and then tagged on an accounting degree during my 1st senior year. As a result I was in college full time for almost 6 years but I was able to get a professional job right out of school so it was very worth it.
Best of luck to you!

I am attending Bloomsburg University right now, its a small state school in PA. I love every second that I'm there. Ive met some great friends and had a blast. I'm majoring in Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations. Its exciting but Im kind of nervous about getting a job out of college. I'd like to work in sports too but it is a very competative field. Good Luck and have some fun with it!
