Haha, well now you will constantly be looking in your rear-view mirror. I've been doing it almost everytime I come to a stop since my accident.
Did you say that you saw the accident before it happened? I didn't see mine, so it was just a complete shock.

Great to hear you're okay!
I'm not sure if car insurance is required in all or some of the States, but in Ontario it is the law to have at least $1million liability car insurance. I got in an accident a few years ago where a lady blew a red light and t-boned my Jetta. At the time I didn't feel a thing, but over the course of a few days I had some muscel pain in my back and neck. In addition, her insurance covered the entire thing and I didn't pay a cent for anything (rental, repairs/replacements, chiropractor).
The dumb thing is that the lady actually stopped at the red light and then decided to go. At the same time I was going around 80km/h when she t-boned me.
As for Toyota, I would say it would be a tough uphill battle. I don't know much about airbags and their sensors, but with the number of people saying that many cars don't have rear end sensors, it could be very likely (still might be good to confirm though), In addition, Toyota has many lawyers and considering how common rear end accidents occur, I would guess they've been around the block a few times. If anything, there might be chance that the lady's insurance could cover your medical expenses (if you have any).

Well Cam,
I guess I get to join you. I just got in my second accident about 2 hours ago. Here is a pic:

I don't really want to go into details because it just happened, but basically I had the right away going straight, coming up to an intersection (with no light at it) and someone facing the opposite way I was going turned and hit me. His view was probably blocked by cars, but I still had the right away and he had to proceed with caution, so it should be his fault.
So now I am 2 hours away from home at college, and I have no idea how I will be getting to work for the rest of the week. Should be fun.
Here is a pic from my first accident:

That one happened on January 3rd. I was driving back down to college from home in a snow storm, and I had to slow down to get around an accident and someone who had their cruise control set at 50 mph came up behind me and hit his breaks, but caught some ice and fishtailed right into the back of my car. That one ended up getting totaled.
