An awesome return today, but it came with a failure of Ed Sabol. Got my SASE returned empty in a USPS "Body Bag." I suppose I'll be resending to him.....

Just curious, what did you send that it came back in the 'body bag'? BTW, did you come up with that term? That is perfect; I'm going to start using that now!

I just sent a plain index card...got my SASE back (return address of Ed Sabol) with nothing in it inside the USPS "We're sorry..." thing. As for the term "body bag," I'm pretty sure I heard it from someone on the boards here, but it seems like a pretty apt description of what it is!

    Thanks guys!

    A single one in today....

    Gary Payton - c/o Vegas Address - 13 days

Now, I typically don't send to anyone more than once, especially this soon. However, the card I had him sign earlier looked absolutely terrible and I could barely see the autograph and I found another card of his recently. He didn't sign that, but he did send me back a signed Hoops Rookie! The autograph shows up great, a huge upgrade!

Nice, I keep forgetting to send to Payton.

Glad to see the Packers win. I bet you're still pumped about it!

That's awesome man, good for you. I can't wait to experience a 49ers SB win someday. I was only two when they last one, I do have all my dad's gear and championship stuff from the glory days, but I wanna experience it first hand, at least we're headed in the right direction this off season. Where did you get your jersey NFL.com? Those Asian surplus sites are really the way to go.. $30-$40 gets you a sewn on quality jersey. I am a little bummed they didn't get Kuhn involved though, I really like him.

Yeah, I was about three the last time the Packers won the Super Bowl, so this is basically the first one I've been alive for (or at least alive to remember & experience). I think the 49ers have a ways to go, especially in finding a true franchise QB, but they're slowly improving.

As for the jersey, I did indeed pick it up from NFL.com. I thought about getting one through one of the "knock-off" sites, but decided I'd rather spend the extra money for the quality. Kuhn's been my guy since 2008 when he sent me back some extra stuff and wrote me a few notes after some TTM requests. Awesome guy...I even had him sign a copy of an art project I spent some time on that was of him. Eventually ended up sending him a copy to keep as well!

The 9ers are better of than people think, we have lots of key pieces in place (run game, Anthony Davis, Mike Iupati, Crabtree and Morgan are a passable duo, we could still use that #1 stud though), Willis/Spikes make a fantastic pair of ILBs, Justin Smith is a savage, and Franklin is a top 3 NT, role players up front like Sopoaga and McDonald are decent enough, Vernon Davis.. We just need ourselves a franchise QB (There are none in this draft sadly) and some secondary help, and an elite 3-4 OLB. I think we'll win the West this year without too much trouble from St. Louis. I think we end up with Kyle Orton as our QB, which is passable until we can get our guy via draft. Harbaugh has the makings and vision of a great coach, now we have a GM and a competent front office and staff to actually utilize/evaluate talent. The days of that clapping monkey on the sidelines are over. The way parity is in this league now, even the losers can be winners overnight. SB is still a ways away though. Sorry to clog up your thread with football chat.

As far as the jerseys, the NFLShop ones are made 100x nicer. I'm not much of a "jersey guy" anymore, I have lots of them but I only wear them on gamedays and when I attend games, so I stick to the $30 ones. People ask why I have so many of "those $300 sewn jerseys", they don't even know that they're knockoffs lol. I do have a Mitchell & Ness 1994 Jerry Rice jersey, that was worth the money. That's pretty cool about Kuhn. I know a guy who went to Shippensburg with him and had some classes with him. Seems like a pretty nice guy.
