Just because its diet doesn't mean its healthy for you. Diet drinks have Aspartame in them. Aspartame is in most diet things. Aspartame can be very dangerous. Here is a link to show you, you can also google it.
http://www.sweetpoison.com/aspartame-side-effects.html Splenda is also not good for you.
For diet, have you tried a high fiber diet. Fiber is very good for you. You also stay fuller for a longer period of time. For exercise you should mix it up. Walk, run, bike, and even rollerblade.

I would advise walking because walking is one of the most recommended healthy forms of exercise for very good results.

I walk 3 miles a day right after dinner. I plan to increase that to 5 miles later on.
Can't swim and if I try Zumba I'll just be checking out the honeys....

Congrats on your progress!
I lack your will power. My biggest issue is Coke Zero. Specifically Coke Zero. It is essentailly all that I drink. I have tried switching to Vitamin water but I get headaches from the caffeine withdrawal.
Again, congrats and good luck.

You should read the book, "The belly off Diet" by Jeff Csatari, also the editors of Men's Health. Great book!

Thanks!
I gave up diet cokes/soft drinks. I now drink a drink mix from Walmart. Its their brand Great Value. Its sugar free and only has 10 calories. I use them with 20oz bottles of water and I'm good to go.

I've lost quite a bit and kept it off. My secret weapon is running. I used to HATE HATE HATE it. But after I got over the initial hump, I am now enjoying it from time to time. Ran 6 miles the other night, then came back to some situps / pullups. While walking, don't be afraid to jog a block or 2. If you get tired, then stop. If you feel energized again, continue - do this until you can run it all :)
