My First Fake Patch Card.... I think?
Finally after well over 30 years in the hobby, I think I own my first "FAKE" Card. I purchased this on ebay

After seeing some of the amazing patches to come out of this years cup from the UD Cup packout pictures,

(Like the one that arrived today..)

I actually was fooled to believe that this was legit. I even pulled some patches that were even nicer than this one from my big break, so I thought anything was possible with this years cup.
However, after reading this thread posted on SCF I now realize I was duped. Same Seller with now a History of doing this.
Upon further inspection, the patch is too small to come from a jersey but rather it looks like its from a hat. I feel rather Stupid to say the least. This type of stuff has really set the hobby back in my eyes and it disgusts me that people make a living doing this to perfectly legit cards.
Obviously I will destroy this card since returning it to the seller is only going to get somebody else a Fake card in their collection. So buyers Beware of this seller. I won't waste my time asking for a refund since then he would get the card back and just sell it to somebody else. So consider this thread a warning when dealing with this seller. I think it is against the rules to post his name and Ebay ID but it can easily be found in the links I provided. Let me know your thoughts and thanks in advance for the long read.

It's really a shame that UD doesn't have an authentication program like Panini. It would take the guess work out of situations like this.
Really sorry to hear about it, Mark, I hope that you're able to get it reported and get your money back.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Sorry to hear about that
Its a shame that people will get that low, to do something like this, especially to an extremely high end and nice card.
And dont destroy it...its a perfectly nice Tavares auto. Very clean. Nice card though :)

Get in touch with ebay/paypal. You have the proof with the previous auction he won for the original. Get your money back and cut the card up and send it back to him. I wouldnt let him get away with it.
