Finally, getting underway with graphing again for the new year. Hit up the Philadelphia 76ers at their hotel today. Got the following to sign for me as they boarded the bus to the game:
Andres Nocioni - 1/1 (got him as he came around the corner and headed back inside the hotel)
Jrue Holiday - 1/1
Evan Turner - 1/1 mini basketball
associate head coach Michael Curry - 1/1
Louis Williams - 1/1
Spencer Hawes - 1/1
Elton Brand - 1/1 (after signing the 1 card, almost signed my Kapono card, but I told him I only brought 1 card for him to sign)
Thaddeus Young - 1/1
head coach Doug Collins - 1/1 index card
Missed out on the following:
Jason Kapono - 0/1 (was hard to recognize with his hood on as he hopped into a cab with Brackins)
assistant coach Aaron Mckie - 0/1 (hopped into a cab with Meeks and Holiday)
Marreese Speights - 0/1 (ignored)
Craig Brackins and Jodie Meeks signed, but I didn't need them. Tony Battie and Andre Iguodala didn't make the trip.

UGH I've been trying to get brand for months here at home and he's the only sixer I haven't gotten. In fact I've never even seen him signing. That is a great haul most of those guys are automatic signers. Nocioni especially signs before every game inside the arena and after in the parking lot.

Legendary and Boxing Hall of Fame trainer Emanuel Steward, who trained or fine-tuned the strikings from the likes of Thomas "The Hitman" Hearns, Lennox Lewis, Miguel Cotto, etc., made an appearance for a paid signing held at the Gibraltar Trade Center out in Taylor, MI to benefit a fundraiser to help the travel expenses of the amateurs at his Kronk Gym. Got Emanuel to sign a boxing glove and add the inscription of "IBHOF 1996" on it for me. Real nice guy, took his time signing and even dated it.

Also appearing there for a paid signing was current IBF Junior Middleweight champ Cornelius "K9" Bundrage. Got Cornelius on a boxing glove with the inscription of "IBF Jr. Middleweight Champ" on it for me.

Former NHL player and Detroit Red Wings alum, John Ogrodnick, made an appearance at the Hamlin Pub in Shelby Township, MI tonight for the Detroit Red Wings' official game viewing party there. Being just 10 minutes from my house, decided to stop by the bar. Got John to sign 3 of my trading cards for me as well as sign and personalized his own 8 x 10 promo photo he was handing out for me also.

good work- those restaurant radio appearances and other appearances really are awesome aren't they? They are good for all parties involved (except maybe the player). The restaurant gets business, the radio station gets fan followings and more recognition and we (the fans) get free autographs.

Detroit Red Wings' center Darren Helm and Detroit Red Wings' alumni Joe Kocur made an appearance, to promote the Red Wings' upcoming Fan Day at Joe Louis Arena, at the Meijer store out in Royal Oak, MI tonight. Got Darren to sign my 8 x 10 photo with the inscription of "Go Wings" on it. Got Joe to sign my puck with the inscription of "3x S.C. Champ (technically 4x, but I'm only counting those that he won as a player)" on it for me.

What is the away team hotel of the pistons? I live about 45 minutes north of the palace, and would consider going on an adventure to the hotel. haha

After work today, stop by to graph the Denver Nuggets at their hotel. Got the following to sign for me as they boarded the bus to the game:
Chris Andersen - 1/2 trading cards (got him as he was coming back around the corner and into the hotel)
assistant coach Adrian Dantley - 1/1 trading card (took his time signing for whoever needed him and even added "HOF 2008" on everything without being asked to)
Anthony Carter - 1/1 trading card
Shelden Williams - 1/1 trading card (started to sign my Melvin Ely on the same page next to his, but I told him I only had 1 for him to sign. I'll remember to bring more next time)
Nene - 1/1 trading card (told everybody he would be back. dropped off his stuff on the bus and came back out to sign for whoever needed him. still a classy guy.)
Ty Lawson - 1/1 trading card
head coach George Karl - 1/1 trading card
Al Harrington - 1/1 trading card
Carmelo Anthony - 1/2 trading cards (took a blue sharpie and ran with it down the line for as much as he could as possible, though he didn't sign for everybody)
Missed out on the following:
Melvin Ely - 0/1 trading card (didn't notice him as he got on the bus)
Arron Afflalo - 0/1 trading card, 0/1 photo (ignored with his headphones on)
Renaldo Balkman - 0/1 trading card (ignored)
Chauncey Billups - 0/1 Pistons Swingman jersey (just waved to the crowd as he boarded the bus)
J.R. Smith - 0/1 trading card (snuck by as Melo was signing)
Kenyon Martin - 0/1 trading card (ignored)
assistant coach Stacey Augmon - 0/1 trading card (ignored)
Gary Forbes and Nuggets' radio color commentator Scott Hastings signed, but I didn't have anything for them. Immediately afterwards, drove up to the Palace for the Detroit Pistons vs. Denver Nuggets game. Graphed the Nuggets by their tunnel during pregame shoot around. Got the following to sign for me:
Arron Afflalo - 1/1 photo, 0/1 trading card (signed 1 per person going onto the court, didn't sign as after he made his way to the back after finishing warming up)
J.R. Smith - 1/1 trading card (signed with my crappy and dying black back-up sharpie as I had dropped my blue sharpie inside my car on a rush to the Palace)
Carmelo Anthony - 1/1 trading card (signed with my crappy black sharpie as well, I thought he was gonna go down the line with somebody's blue one, but switched with mine as he got to me and used it on a couple of other people's stuff as well
)
Melvin Ely - 1/1 trading card
Missed out on the following:
Renaldo Balkman - 0/1 trading card (didn't sign for no one as he made his way to the back)
Chris Andersen - 0/1 trading card (came off at the same time as Melo; opted to get Melo instead)
Chauncey Billups - 0/1 Pistons Swingman jersey (signed for only a few before getting ushered to the back)
Stacey Augmon - 0/1 trading card (stopped and signed for only 1 kid)
Gary Forbes and assistant coach Adrian Dantley signed, but I didn't get them. Struck out on Chauncey Billups' only appearance with the Nuggets at the Palace this season tonight. But can't complain too much scoring 2 Melo autographs. This totally made up for him skipping over me a couple of years ago up at the Target Center after a T-Wolves and Nuggets game.
