Attended Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh's "Suh Tweet Up" event in Detroit today. Unfortunately, Suh couldn't be there because of training camp held today, but taking his place to meet and greet with fans was former NBA player and Fab 5 member, Jalen Rose. Got Jalen to sign 2/6 trading cards for me. Also appearing there was former Detroit Lions running back Mel Farr. Got Mel to sign an index card for me. University of Michigan defensive tackle Mike Martin was there too, but I didn't get his autograph.

I like how Suh couldn't make it to the "Suh Tweet Up" event, reminds me of how Adrian Peterson missed his own training camp!

Attended the Detroit Red Wings Alumni Associations' 3rd annual charity softball tournament held at Duck Lake Pines Park in Highland, MI today. Got the following personnels, who were there on hand, to sign:

former NHL player Bryan Smolinski - 4/4 trading cards

Hockey HOFer Dino Ciccarelli - 2/2 trading cards, 1/1 puck, 1/1 Red Wings 11 x 17 giveaway photo

former NHL player Pat Peake - 4/4 trading cards

former NHL player Darren McCarty - 4/4 trading cards

former NHL player Kevin Miller - 1/1 trading card

former NHL player Joe Kocur - 2/4 trading cards (as President of the Red Wings' alumni association, Kocur was in charge of the event and ran around all day to make sure the event was running smoothly. he stopped here and there to sign for those that needed him, but would only sign 1 item everytime)

former NHL player Manny Legace - 1/1 trading card

lead singer of "The Verve Pipe" Brian Vander Ark - 1/1 index card

actor Jeff Daniels - 1/1 event ticket

Hockey HOFer Ted Lindsay - 1/1 8 x 10 photo (Ted was brought in to sign autographs for the fans for a couple of hours. Signing policy was only 1 item per person. Asked if he could include his HOF induction year and he said he would be proud to add it. Always a class act)

Former NHL players Eddie Mio, John Ogrodnick, Wayne Presley, and Dave Lewis were there, but I didn't need them. Former MLB players Steve Avery and Dave Rozema were also there, but didn't need them as well. Former NHL players Kirk Maltby and Mathieu Schneider were scheduled to participate with the Alums, but neither one showed up.

Attended an independent wrestling show, XICW, at the Ritz in Warren, MI today. The main draw on the card was former ECW/WWE/TNA wrestler Tommy Dreamer. Got Tommy to sign all 5 of my cards and also purchased one of his photos to be signed.

Attended an independent wrestling show, Metro Pro Wrestling, at the Gibraltar Trade Center in Taylor, MI tonight. Wrestling on the card was former TNA wrestler Kiyoshi and current TNA wrestler Alex Shelley. Got Kiyoshi to sign my 8 x 10 TNA promo photo and Alex on a trading card. Also wrestling on the card was former TNA wrestler Petey Williams and former WWE wrestler Zack Gowen, but I didn't need them.

Attended Detroit Lions training camp today. Being the only day that I could have made it out to check the Lions out in training camp, surprisingly, there weren't that many people in attendance due to the Tigers baseball game taking place at the same time. Got the following players to sign for me:

wide receiver Nate Burleson - 1/1 trading card

wide receiver Maurice Stovall - 1/1 trading card

punter Nick Harris - 1/1 Lions calendar page

Also got 10 players (mostly guys fighting for a roster spot, except for defensive end Cliff Avril) on the cover of my Lions calendar. Could have gotten Matthew Stafford, since he signed a little bit for the kids to the section a little off from the autograph tent, but was the third person away from Avril in line, so didn't go after Stafford. Could have gotten linebacker DeAndre Levy, wide receiver Derrick Williams, and running back Aaron Brown, but didn't. Everybody else notable didn't sign.

Detroit Lions' quarterbacks Shaun Hill, Drew Stanton, and Matthew Stafford made an appearance at the General RV dealer out in Wixom, MI today. Being poorly advertised, there were only less than 50 people in attendance for the signing. Didn't really need Shaun or Drew, so got them both on a plastic giveaway mini-football they were handing out. Got Matthew on my Lions' calendar page, trading card, and one of the plastic mini-football that were handed out. Also got pictures with Shaun and Matthew. Wish I would of brought more items as the dealers and sellers were just racking up on mini-helmets and photos, mostly on Stafford of course.
