ahh, you put it in quotes so I thought you were doubting that.

And yea Weaver shouldn't have thrown at Avila's head, but thankfully it really wasn't anywhere near him. Only the statue known as Mike Piazza would've gotten hit there, hell, he would've jumped to get hit by it lol.

Weaver has always been an idiot, but what Guillen did was really uncalled for. He hasn't had a big hit in what like 5 years? Lol, act like you've done something before.

With that being said, Verlander has been insane. I really want to see a CC/Verlander matchup again. Opening day was cool, but the bullpens blew it for both of them. (Edit- blew it for CC, Verlander gave up the 3 run hr, and then pitched lights out lol)

I wanted to know your thoughts on Aybar bunting in the 8th? My first reaction was that it was kind of busch league...but then I realized that they are trying to come back...its not like it was a 10-0 game. What do you think?

I think (and its just my opinion) Guillen was just standing up for his teammates, and just trying to get under Weavers skin (which clearly worked), Weaver was throwing a fit, cussing and trash talking the entire game, because he didn't appriciate that Magglio Ordonez isn't a fast runner. Weaver needs to settle down, because he was overreacting over nothing, then when everytime a Tigers hitter makes an out and you start shouting at them, you're bound to get "burned".

But yea, Verlander/Sabathia would be a good matchup right now, opening day, both of them didn't pitch well at all. It'd be interesting though because neither guy has had to much success in their careers against the opposing team.

My thoughts on the Aybar bunt: wasn't suprised at all, both my brothers were watching the game with me and I told them that either Aybar or Bourjos would most likely bunt. Its a 3-0 game, and if Verlander made a good throw, he would've been out anyhow, heck, if Don Kelly gets an out on the run down or throws it to 1st and lets Aybar score, the no hitter would've most likely gone into the 9th as the next guy (Kendrick) struckout.

Now if its 5-0 or 6-0, i'd be mad, but it was a close game and the final score was 3-2, good play by Aybar.

Yea I hear ya. I'm not saying Weaver was right...because he is a moron. I just think that Guillen made himself look bad as well. But what you're saying makes sense.

The rest of what you say I agree with as well. I was just curious as to what Tigers fans were thinking.

Most Tigers fans probably don't like the bunt, but I had expected it, so was not suprised at all. Would've rather faced the 3-4-5 hitters instead lol

    Guillen = Punk

Yes, Weaver was overreacting the whole game (especially since the early home run was barely fair; no "pimping" that one), but Guillen took it WAY too far...any respect I had for him is now long gone. What a goon.

Weaver should be just as big of a goon, right?

Weaver was just acting like an idiot yesterday, ha. But, in my probably biased opinion, Guillen was the one who took it too far.

Full disclosure: I am a Tigers fan and a Verlander fan. I think Weaver over-reacted to Mags, but have no problem with him throwing at Avila. It wasn't malicious and he wasn't trying to hit him, just send a message. Old school baseball. If Weaver wanted to hit Avila, he would have. No problem with the bunt, it was a close enough game to try anything. Lost in all this, Guillen's little show caused a twenty+ minute delay. They may have taken Verlander out of his rhythm and gave the Angels time to think bunt. You don't mess with no-hitter mojo.

Of course you're bias, you're mad Verlander won yesterday

Can't call Guillen a goon and not call Weaver one though. Weaver talked so much trash the entire day yesterday, he was mad Ordonez runs slow, was yelling at the hitters when they made outs, then thinks he did nothing wrong yesterday. If anyone saw the home run Ordonez hit, it was pushing to the left, and barely stayed fair, Ordonez was looking at the ball the ENTIRE time, as soon as it went fair, he put his head down and ran around the bases.

Guillen defended his teammates, who Weaver was giving it to the entire day, but couldn't handle taking in what he gave out. With that said, I hope EVERY team does this to him for the rest of the season, its clear he can't control his temper, and you can get him off his game.

Weaver is a goon, considering how he acted yesterday...he seems to be on the same mental level of Fausto Carmona at this point. I'm not really sure what he was thinking, but his meltdown was worse than Carlos Carrasco's after the drubbing he took from the Royals.

What I don't see, though, is how Guillen was defending his teammates. Hits a home run, pimps it, and stares down the pitcher all the way to second base...was it a good move to get Weaver unwound? Definitely, but it was goony and just play Busch League.

When I said defend his teammates, I meant that Weaver was just talking trash to them all day, so Guillen hits a home run, and basically does the same back to Weaver.
