Favorite Teams?
What's everyone's favorite team? Do you have a favorite Eastern Conference and Western Conference team or do you like a team because of a certain player? I'd have to say my all-time favorite team is the Wild (hence my username
) and my favorite Eastern Conference team would have to be the Habs (because of the great history of the team...and P.K. Subban lol). I also like the Oil (Hall), Bruins (Thomas) and Isles (Tavares)...when they're not playing the Wild or Habs of course (Wild comes first, too, in games against the Habs). Looking forward to comments, this should be an interesting read. Thanks!

I'm a Canadian. As a Canadian you are only entitled to one team for life.
For me, from the moment of birth - Detroit Red Wings - 54 + years.
Do I have teams that I perennially love to see lose? Yes, several. My team still has unfinished business with 2 teams, the Montreal Canadiens from 1966, and the Pittsburgh Penguins from 2 years ago.
Least favourite team at the current time, co-incides with millions of others least favourite ..... The Anaheim Ducks.

Favourite of all: Vancouver Canucks
Favourite in the East: Ottawa Senators
Have a soft spot for: Florida Panthers, Montreal Canadiens, Boston Bruins
Love, Love, LOVE to see Lose: Toronto Maple Leafs, Calgary Flames, Colorado Avalanche, Chicago Blackhawks, Philadelphia Flyers, New York Rangers, Anaheim Ducks, Minnesota Wild
I'm pretty indifferent to the rest of the league, but I'll just add one more thing.

Yikes...maybe I touched a sore spot. Well, though my great-great-grandfather was an Ontario native, I'm from lil' ol' South Dakota, where hockey is not that big, but is getting bigger (Vanek, LaRose, Oshie, Nodl and Goligoski played for the local USHL team before they turned pro). Let's just put it this way, I don't hate the Bruins, Oilers or Isles. I DO hate the Canucks, Flames, Blackhawks and Stars.
I will always be a Wild fan (yes, "4life") but, with three generations of Canadian descent (my 4th great-grandfather served in the King's Navy during the War of 1812 and settled in Ontario, but I digress), I figured it wouldn't be too bad to have a favorite Canadian NHL team to root for. And, with Subban on the blueline and the amazing performance by Halak in last years Stanley Cup run, the Habs were it!
I'm really looking forward to hearing more comments!

No sore spot, most of us don't allow ourselves to jump on a bandwagon. It's a bit of a Canadian thing, just like not touching the Stanley Cup until you've earned the rite to do so.
I have a dear friend back in Canada, who has jumped from bandwagon to bandwagon, he was a decent Junior player as well, but he always backs a winner. When we enter into Hockey discussions, his opinion is not valued and we tease him to death, because he has compromised his integrity by switching teams as often as his boxer shorts.

I'm Canadian. None of my choices are "bandwagon" decisions. I've always backed the same teams.

penguins for eastern because i live 30 minutes outside of pittsburgh hence my fav team
western conf would be the LA KINGS kopitar and they are a fun team to watchFlickr: Hidden Content

Blackhawks cuz i live in Chicago. and the Wild because Cam barker is my favorite player. and i sorta like atlanta since a bunch the hawks players went there.

Pittsburgh Penguins:
Been since my inception into this earth. Through the times of Rico Fata and now the times of Sidney Crosby.
Chicago Blackhawks:
Half my family is from there, so I've been grafted in. (also during the times of...Eric Daze)
Teams that I certainly distain:
Washington Capitals- Love to see them choke
Philadelphia Flyers- Cross state rivals. Need any other reason?
Detroit Red Wings- Full of themselves
Montreal Canadians- ^ "Mr. Entitlement" thinks the NHL owes them.

Team I loooove the most is the Canucks.
Teams that I have a softspot for are Colorado Avalanche, New Jersey Devils
Teams that I like to see lose are the Leafs, and the Wild
