How much does PC player "production" affect your collecting?

I have been thinking about this for a while and thought itd be an interesting topic. I know player production is not everythinng but for me it certainly is a part of the puzzle. As long as my guys are getting good playing time and contributing in some way (goals, points, hits, blocked shots, hard work, etc, etc) then Im happy. Of course seeing youre guys produce on goal, assists, wins, and other measurable influences for your team always helps to "validate" my collection in a way.

As of today my 2 main PC guys sit as follows:

    Thomas Vanek: 28 Goals, 39 Assists, 67 Points, +/- -1

    Tyler Ennis: 19 Goals, 29 Assists, 48 Points, +/- 0

I feel as though my guys are having very solid, but not spectacular seasons. Vanek sits at 20th in the NHL in scoring and thats fairly exciting. Ennis is sitting 4th among Rookies in points as well. Every goal they have or nice pass they make just makes me appreciate my PC even more.

Anyway, I just wanna see what other people have to say about the play/production of their PC guys as it relates to their passion for collecting said player. What kind of numbers do you consider "good" for your guys and what might constitute a disappointing year? If your player slumps or fails to play up to the potential you feel they have, does it mean an end or cutback to your collecting.

Have some fun with this one :)

to me, production doesnt affect my collection as much. For example, my main pc has always been chuck kobasew. ever since he got traded to my wild, he hasnt had numbers he use to have, but i just love how he plays! doesnt mind giving a hit and has some good speed. is my pc worth as much as it use to? probably not. but i like it regardless. I just really liked Chuck Kobasew and thats why hes my pc :)

My PC is based on who is/was the Canucks captain and when. Production really has nothing to do with it for me.

I collected because I loved watching my players style of play more than anyone else. Production didn't matter too much in my collection but it was good to know he was more than just an enforcer and could contribute

I put "production" in quotes cause I was trying to include all types of production, not just goals and points. I mean thats part of it but not the whole thing. Good answers so far though. Its always good to findo out why somebody collects a certain player

My guy isn't having a great season. He's on for his worst career total on a season since 2002/03 (playing at least half the season). Albeit, he has had another 'concussion-related' injury.

He has put up 16pts in 11 games and 10 in the last 6 I believe, so he is playing his best hockey of the season by far at the moment. But production won't factor in my pursuit to have the best Gagne PC around.

I collect Gagne because he is supremly skilled and I really admire the way he plays. A great two-player who in my mind is a little underrated. Plus, he comes across as a real nice guy, too.

I picked a rookie from my favorite team and went with him, production has nothing to do with it

For Fowler i know he is a defenceman so he's not going to "produce" as much as the forwards, but i just love watching him play. Imo he is one of the better rookie defenceman this year. I've actually planned a march break to anaheim next year just to see the ducks/fowler play. Before Fowler i actually didn't follow a team to much but now fowler is in im always on tsn mobile to see how they are doing, i ordered the ducks television station thing it just is having fun for me

My main PC is Nate Prosser...and he's in the minors...does production factor into my PC collecting? Obviously not so much. lol
