LeBron Apologizes to Cleveland
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sport...rticle2019605/
For a man who has referred to his own ‘greatness’ perhaps a little too much, it was noticeable that he marked his moment with silent introspection rather than the seeking of adulation.
Asked what were his thoughts as he knelt, James told reporters: “Everything went through my mind at that point. Finally getting over this hump against this team. Everything I went through this summer, with the decision and deciding to come down here to be a part of this team...and all the backlash I got from it,” he said.
Then James made clear exactly how he feels about the choice he made - justified but painful.
Justified because, by teaming up with Wade and Bosh at Miami, James now has a real chance of finally winning his first NBA championship having banished Boston.
“I knew deep down in my heart, as much as I loved my teammates back in Cleveland and as much as I loved home, I knew it couldn’t do it by myself against that team,” James said.
“The way it panned out with all the friends and family and the fans back home, I apologize for the way it happened,” he said.
“I knew this opportunity was once in a lifetime. To be able to come down here and pair with two guys and this organization - in order for me to move on with my career, that team that we just defeated, we had to go through them.”

About time!!! Hey Lebron just 11 months too late on the apology to Cleveland. And it took beating the Celtics to say it. Really!!!!

Lebron has nothing at all to apologize for. He was under contract with cleveland until last summer. He fulfilled all the terms and conditions of his contract. Once his contract was over he was under no legal obligation to say in cleveland. He was free and clear to go and he should not me made to feel ashamed for taking his talents to south beach or anywhere else that he may have chosen to do so.

I hope Cavs fans don't forgive him. He's not sincere. People like him never are.

Never in a million years will I forgive him. After all, the hatred was never directed at him strictly for leaving. It's always been about HOW he left.
No matter what he says, he can never take back the way he left, and how he slapped an entire city in the face in the process.

Is he going to say sorry to cleveland if he wins a championship in his future too??? I don't get this guy.........He just opens the door for criticism every time he opens his big mouth. The guy is a walking soap opera.......he has it so hard

This are exactly what I think.....it is the way he did that bothers me. And Karma would not let him win a championship.

Truth right here...And he isn't sorry, he's trying to do some good PR, but of course, whoever is his PR people, are terrible at advising him what he should and shouldn't say.
Atleast he admitted he couldn't win by himself or essentially win as 'THE guy', so he had to team up with someone better than him so he could contribute instead, I mean come on this guy screams role player and not a true superstar, everything he said screamed that. Its not being a hater, being bias or anything else, the guy said it himself..He didnt want to put a team on his back, he wanted the easy way out and just contribute instead..
He could've got a star to do it with him though, but he refused to have Hickson get traded for Amare..
LeBron = hypocrite
EDIT: Also, I forgot about this, but just thought of it. About the 'not doing it by himself' the Cavs could've brought in another star to go with LeBron, they DID have the cap space to do it, but come on, LeBron isn't that dumb, nobody was going to the Cavs without him signing a contract first, I do think they could've got Bosh, Stoudemire or Wade to go to Cleveland, they had a solid foundation already in place..
Its a copout by him saying he couldnt do it by himself, the ENTIRE Cavs ownership/management were more than willing to get LeBron someone else, but their hands were tied..So now LeBron is not only a liar, but a hypocrite as well.Last edited by gladdyontherise; 05-12-2011 at 04:49 PM.

Agree! I HIGHLY doubt he'd be apologizing if the Heat would've lost that series... Also, gonna +1 Gladdy on the "hypocrite" tag
here's to seeing the "crocodile tears" when the Heat lose (conf. finals or the championship)
