Sources: NBA, union meeting Sunday
The NBA's top labor negotiators and their counterparts in the players' union will meet Sunday night in an 11th-hour attempt to avert the cancellation of any regular-season games, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard.
The unexpected session will include commissioner David Stern, deputy commissioner Adam Silver, union president Derek Fisher and union executive director Billy Hunter, the sources said.

Will this 11th hour meeting save the first 2 weeks of the season? Probably not but hope it will bring the 2 sides closer tomorrow so it could possibly be saved.

Wow, that's surprising. So what happened to the 50/50 demands? Do they still apply? I doubt it, but this can only mean good news. There's no way they will get a deal done tommorow though in my opinion.

I agree. There's no way you can only drop that little when they're already earning so much, while the other side is losing in many casels. To me it's clear which side is at fault. The owners have been the ones that continue to bump up their percentage in efforts to have a season. Not to mention they ALSO gave up on the hard cap, which they initially said they would need in order to even negotiate. Meanwhile, the players have done very little at all from what I've heard, yet I hear lots of the public blaming the owners entirely. I still want a season though

I don't think I side so blindly with the owners. Sure, they have raised their precentage to a 50/50 split, but it's currently 57/43 players as far as I have read. It's not like the players are just going to cave in 7 percent of their salaries to make an easy deal. I think if you were in their shoes you would agree.
My opinion is the owners created this mess with dumb contracts and are now depending on the players to give it back. A lot of them might not have graduated college, but they aren't dumb. If your boss came to you and said they have made some errors and wanted to rollback your salary 7% to make up for it how many of you would volunteer it?

Even the players know the 57 to 43 split is ridiculous and is not a number that will allow them to have a season. I think you should expect them to go down around that amount when the other side is losing money. It may matter to the players about what the owners did in the past to get them where they are now, but it's clear what they have to do to have a season, and they're not even making an effort in many people's opinions.

Highly doubt they will come up with a last min agreement. Expect the beginning games to be canceled.

no news on the meeting yet. I heard they have been talking for four hours. even if they figure out the revenue split, there's still many things to figure out.

They met for five hours, but aren't saying anything of what happened or didn't happen. Good news is, is that Billy Hunter said they will meet again tommorow at 2 pm (he planned on flying to LA for a players-only meeting). This can only mean good news, i guess. If nothing happens tommorow, 100 games get cancelled.
