I read a great line about that (can't remember where).
Something to the effect of: "Can you imagine if Bobby Orr played today? We'd forever be calling him Orrsy, or some other silly play on his last name."
And no one mentions the greatest of all time....Bobby Orr. If you didn't see him in his prime, you missed true greatness. No nickname for him, they haven't invented the word yet! The only player that could truely control a game night in night out. He redefined how a defencemen plays. Take a looks at his stats. Unbelieveable.
The best focus I've ever seen. Look at the picture of him scoring the Stanely Cup winning goal against St. Louis. You and I would be cringing waiting to fall on the ice, this man has stick up in the air !!
Before anyone speaks of being a great player in the NHL, they have to have their name multiple times on the holy grail
Arguments please....Thanks for reading, James (416beatles)

Crosby will be the closest to Gretzky we will ever see in this era....
IMHO, it's not only the individual awards Gretzky won, it's also the Cups he won, imagine if he stayed in Edmonton....probably would have got a "few" more Cups
