Earlier someone said "Its not who is on the card but the value of the card." To me, this makes almost zero sense. I understand that many people are in the hobby for money, heck once and a while I'll pick up something I think I'll be able to make money on, but most people are in it for a love of the sport or passion for collecting. If the player on the card doesnt matter then how do you explain all of the player collectors lurking the boards? Also, from back in the early days when cards were first printed to about the late 90's when game used things started to come out, the player on the card was ALL that mattered, so history is not necesarily in favor of that statement either.

I agree most cards values are becuase of who is on the card. you woulden't pay 100 bucks on a ryan leaf card that a joe montan of the same brand sold for.
