Just one envelope all week so far and it was a great one!
Joey Votto 2/2 on cards after a 14 month wait!
Glad to see that the $225 Million did not stop him from not only being the best 1B in the NL, but one player who still goes above and beyond for the fans!

2 awesome successes today! (and my first 2 since ST)
After finishing a mammoth biography on Satchel Paige, I was left with some interesting anecdotes and stories about players in the Negro Leagues. I sent out 2 letters.
One to the always helpful Mule Miles, who according to legend, stepped up to the plate against Satchel Paige, took 2 strikes, said "If I didn't see the first 2, why would I hit the 3rd?" and sat down on the bench. I also asked him if Satchel Paige was the best player he had ever played against, as well as if he really hit 11 home runs in 11 straight games.
He answered that he did indeed sit on the bench after taking the 2 strikes, but he was pinch hit for. He didn't give up the at-bat. He also said Satch was the best pitcher he ever faced, and probably the best ever. Lastly, he said that he really did hit 11 HRs in 11 games.
The second letter was to Herb "Briefcase" Simpson. He is one of the few living players to play with Josh Gibson and Satchel Paige. I asked him his thoughts of Josh Gibson, as well as what he remembers about getting signed by a team that Satch was the player/owner of.
He said that he was drafted into service after playing 2 games with Josh Gibson, and he left no lasting impression. He also said that in an exhibition, he went 2 for 2 off Satchel. Satch demanded after the game to see the young man who showed him up, and after a handshake, he was signed for Satch's team.
Good stuff.

In the mailbox yesterday: New York Giants DT Jimmy Kennedy signed 1/1 c/o Giants. This was sent during the playoffs right after Kennedy encouraged fans to send stuff to him to be autographed. There are a ton of inscriptions on the card (a rackrs football one since I didn't have a Giants card for him to sign) including "Team Grizz" his Twitter handle, his number #73, "SB XLVI Champs!" "Go Giants!" Grizz #73" and "New York Native!" 1 card 7! inscriptions.
Mike Napoli signed 1/1 c/o Rangers ST.

It's been too long since I've posted on here. Man, I haven't gotten a request out in a long time, been busy. Hopefully soon I can start up again.
I did get a nice surprise in the mail the other day:
JOEY VOTTO pulled through after a 13-14 month wait. He signed a custom I sent to him last ST.
