He was going after the pick, ehrhoff pushed him and he looked up and he hit miller?
If he wanted to hit miller he'd skate in on an icing and after the whistle he'd take him out
He's dirty?
He's a tough guy, tough guys dont just go hit goalies for fun, tough guys do have a level if respect for the game of hockey
If this is datsyuk and the same play happens, what do we say , then it must have been erhoffs fault because datsyuk isn't a tough guy?

I cannot believe this is being argued. He was driving with the puck full speed towards the net and had absolutely NO time to get out of the way. And he WAS pushed towards Miller. Tootoo cant become a bat in a fifth of a second and fly into the night. This whole thing is being blown WAY out of proportion, due to the fact it was Miller's frist game back from the Lucic Hit, i dont blame him for his reaction because he didnt see the video, he just assumed he purposely tried to just like Lucic

wow, I agree with others. Are some Sabres fans this biased too? And coming from a guy that really doesn't like Tootoo and has been glad to see him get Shark beatdowns in the past but this was way too harsh against him. Any other player on the Preds team and it would have just been a minor penalty.

and Tootoo, if you look at the replay that they show in the video was 6 feet away from Miller and still had possession of the puck. Its just one of those accidents. Tootoo was skating at an angle to try and get a scoring chance in front of Miller, as he should, and Ehrhoff was doing the right thing in trying to force Tootoo to go behind the net. The end result is Tootoo is going at high speed and had nowhere to go. Buffalo fans are probably lucky that he went to the air and had less contact with Miller than if he just ran right into him

This is a minor at best, and Miller should really think about staying out of those kinds of scrums. Someone hits him once in that and he could be out much longer with another concussion.

I agree ... the major/misconduct was a direct result of the name on the back of the jersey (in both cases) and the severity of contact. These kinds of hits get everyone so riled up ... a couple of you need to check your freak-outs at the door. Deep breaths help.
Tootoo is probably going to face supplementary discipline because of what Shanahan said about goalie contact, and the fact that it's still fresh in people's minds. But of COURSE Miller and Ruff and the rest of the Sabres freaked out. I can't blame them. The guy *just* came back. And Tootoo has a reputation of being a less-than-reputable guy out there.
That said, I've watched the play a dozen times. Tootoo was trying to score, and the Buffalo defenseman was guiding him toward the net. It's indisputable. And for anyone to suggest that Tootoo was making a beeline for Miller no matter what is just irresponsible and ignorant. Or are you mind-readers now?

wanna know the funny thing on the play? miller throws 5 - 9 punches on tootoo an what does he get? NOTHING. yea i know he is just coming back from a minor concussion but if this was any other game any other time it would be at LEAST 2 min for roughing. what a joke reffing.

Wow I'm agreeing with you a lot today but your 100% right!!! Lindsay Ruff was mad as heck and rightfully so! This was Miller's 1st game back from a concussion he suffered by the dirty Lucic hit on him! Look I'm a Leafs fans. I don't like Buffalo or Miller but I'd be crying murder if this happened to a Toronto goalie. Oh wait it did. A Montreal player took out Reimer! When is Shanny going to get serious about protecting players?

i agree that ruff should be mad an all buffalo fans, but you have to look at it like this. What are all players taught to do? Drive to the net. Try to get a goal. So your telling this guy to just skip out on a scoring chance an just go around the net? If nothing happened to Miller earlier this would never be a big hype an just be a every game thing. It wasn't like he had time to stop or to turn his skates away an go around miller in the crease or around the net with/out crashing into the net itself because ernhoff didn't give him the room. The contact was not in any way intentional tops 3 games on this one.

Tootoo was issued a penalty. So argue away.
