Tootoo being issued a penalty really has no basis as an argument. Officials are far from perfect. They do their best but make mistakes just like everyone else. A two minute minor for goaltender interference would have sufficed. It appeared to me that Tootoo made his best effort to avoid a dangerous collision with Miller. I saw no indication of an intent to injure.
Would this play really be an issue if it wasn't Tootoo and wasn't Miller's first game back after another more violent collision? I doubt it.

He got five and a game for it. I think that's sufficient penalty for it.
The NHL disciplinary committee, through its inconsistency, has created an environment where nearly every play is looked at through the lens of "how many games will this get?" only to be up in arms whenever there is no suspension issued.
Carey Price gets run over 2-3 times a night, sometimes there's a penalty, sometimes there isn't. I have yet to call for somebody to be suspended for taking liberties with his crease and soft defence.

goalies are on the ice, players are skating full speed on an ice surface, goalies will get run into.
unless its blatantly intentional, theres nothing wrong with it.

It's not about the intent. The rule plainly states, that you must TRY to avoid the Goaltender.
Not once did I say it was intentional, he did not however in the least try to avoid Miller. The NHL has stated that they are going to protect the goaltenders, especially when they are defenseless.
Had Tootoo put his arms in the air in last second exasperation, then I'm on his side, but he just kept on Trucking.

Throw your arms in the air in exasperation. That's twice now that I have posted it. Simply re-read my post, my explanation is there.
