It's his card, and he's welcome to keep it out there at whatever price he wants to see what kind of offers he gets.

The card is numbered to /10, and it could very well be the nicest patch of the 10. In either case, it is worth as much as he can get for it, and if that is the price he is looking for, he has a right to hold out for it if that is what he wants. He might not EVER get it, but what does it hurt for him to have it listed?

A gretzky RC books at $900, but some of the higher graded ones go for tens of thousands (up to $55,000 I think).

I mean, there and Thousands of gretzky rc's graded at 6 or 7, and even probably a few hundred graded at 8 (not sure, I don't have the stats). Yet a gretzky graded at 9 or 9.5 goes up in price EXPONENTIALLY, why? Because although there are more out there, the one with the highest grade is sells for 60 times what the lesser ones sell for.

Maybe this seller is looking at it in the same way. There are only 10 of those cards printed, and if his has the best patch, maybe the right collector will make him a very good offer.

If I pulled that card, I would consider it probably the best card I would ever have pulled, so I would be keeping it in my PC until I could get EXACTLY the price I want for it, maybe not 50 grand, but it would definitely not kill me to hold onto it rather than give it up for less than I think it to be worth.

    Just my 2 cents.

As far as ebay goes, I think that sellers should be able to list at whatever they want, and if you don't think it's a good deal, just don't bid on it.

I pulled a BAP Ultimate Series One or First Edition before it was changed to ITGU Ulitimate.

I pulled a BAP Ultimate Wayne Gretzky 00-01 In The Numbers #9/10 that blows that Crosby card into little pieces.

    It was sold for $400.00

Buyers are the problem, not sellers. Buyers have lost their composure and their minds.

Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. It took me 5 years and many thousands of dollars to realize what a fool I am. The prices people are willing to pay for things is absolutely mind-boggling. Now, I tell myself I have a $700 piece of cardboard sitting in the closet and want to go stick my head in the oven. People just don't think anymore, it all reactionary.

I don't care what a person ask for a card and do not see why it bother so many. It's is card and he can ask what he wants. Then anyone interested can make him a offer. I think some would love to own this card and maybe this is why they hate to see such high bin asking. But that is not a sale so I don't see why worry. Some do fetch a lot of money to buy premium cards and if one can have a great price for it, why not. I would not pay that for a card because I don't have that much to spend anyway.

We are all adult and we can all spend our money like we want and there will always some that reather keep it unless they get the golden offer. I guess it make them feel good..

Also I don't see why eBay should regulate any of this. A seller buyer market regular themselve and don't need a third party to tell them to not ask too much. After all, this is what our society is all about, offer and demand.

The answer is jealous....people are jealous, so they call sellers idiots to make themselves feel better

    As for the cardboard comment

Cards are just pieces of cardboard
A dirt bike is just a bunch of metal
A computer is a hunk of plastics, with many wires
Money is just pieces of minerals, and pieces of paper
A car is a piece of metal
A golf course is a bunch of grass
Cards are just pieces of cardboard

    See?
It's what you make it, for fun, not just cardboard,
    Its a hobby not cardboard

Get off your high horses guys.
Is it so surprising to you that many find it confusing or funny that he's asking such a ridiculous amount and turning down offers of $13k?
If he wants to show off, let him get his own site. If he's going to do it on Ebay, he opens himself up to ridicule if he's being ridiculous.

No, you're right. I'm jealous the guy has a card I have no interest in owning.

Its his card, he can ask whatever he wants for it

If your entire pc is worth 13,000 would you sell it for 13,000?
You'd likely want more, and just because it isn't technically worth more in bv and sv etc, doesn't mean you would sell it for that price

If I own a card, and I'm keeping it unless I get the exact amount I want for it, it'd be pretty silly for people to call me stupid for that considering I own the card and not them

Who told you the card was worth 13,000??

Wick, I love you man, but maybe you should heed your own advice.

What gives ANYONE on here the right to criticize the guy because of the price he wants for his card?

Obviously he is in no hurry to dump it, unless he gets his price. If not, he is perfectly comfortable holding onto it. All that means is that he has his priorities straight, and that he can still pay his bills without dumping all his pulls on ebay within 30 days of pulling them because he spent so much busting wax that he needs to "recoup" his losses.

Regardless of what the prices people ask, EBAY IS THERE TO MAKE MONEY!

EBAY DOESN'T KNOW, OR CARE ABOUT THE PRICE YOU LIST! HIGHER PRICE = HIGHER FEES THEY RECEIVE.

Simple logic, they are a business for a reason and a leader in the online category, they don't care about one insignificant listing cause there are hundreds of thousands or even a million more.

As well, other companies such as car companies or dealerships use eBay as well, thus eBay motors. The listings can go from $10 - $5,000,000 +. If eBay charged fees for top-end listings they can lose millions in transaction just to gain a few bucks in charging ridiculous listing fees for higher listing price.

    Their answer is no.
