i collect cards
many people throw out base etc
i like collecting base and parallels, and nice looking cards
for jerseys
for me, if i have a jersey of a player, i dont need two
same with autos
the companies should lower the amount of products, there are way too many
lower the amount, up the quality, and spend more time on the products to make sure they are released on time, and no errors are in them

Personally I'd just like to see an end to the manufactured crap.
I couldn't care less about what color(s) a memorabilia card is, or where and when a guy wore it.
But we've gotten to the point now where the one-upsmanship in the industry has led us to "memorabilia" cards that are just printed fabrics that have absolutely nothing to do with hockey or the player on the card. Some of them might look really cool, but it's about on par with pulling autos of a figure skater or company CEO's wife as my "hit" from a box of hockey cards. It's a neat idea - it's just not what I was paying for.

I used to jump when i pulled a single colour jersey no matter who it was. Now a single colour jersey pull is depressing unless its gretz or orr or something. As far as boxes go, i dont see how products can be this expensive. Thank god no one was breaking luxury suite at the original price. Products like this, where the seguin ARP (if u can even call it that) goes for less than the cost of a box, whats the point? Breaking boxes has always been gambling to an extent, but when only 2-3% (some products are better of course) of all pulls in the product will get you your money back, things have to change. Boycott wax

Welllllllll, if anyone who matters in the "industry" is reading this, then maybe you'll understand why we're souring on the "hobby"..........
You people have jigged this whole thing that there's "hits" in every box of cards, be it $60 or $80 or $400, or "case hits" for the truly insane. Except there's so many "hits" in so many boxes of so many sets from only two licensed manufacturers plus ITG that no one can keep up. I believe NOW is the latest tipping point, after two years of two manufacturers pumping out so much product that a jersey card of a future HOF goalie from a $400 box of product sells for 3 bucks and change. And when everyone starts clueing in, who's going to spend $400, or $80 or even $60??
This has happened before. Pro-Set and Score and Leaf and Donruss and Fleer, they allllll went under, this was before the jerseys and autos and patches etc. Just toooo much stuffffff.
Personally, just like Bo a few posts up, I don't need another jersey card or auto from Crosby or Malkin or Luongo or Linden or Lafleur or Howe or Hull or Other Hull. Judging by what was at the show on the weekend, there's plenty of them out there for the people who might still need one or two or ten.
So there's that..........

very simples take a look at the sheer number of card produce. Manufacturer are killing the market. Some did think because a card is numbererd it will retain value but when you look how many numbered card are produce for one player rarety is not there. Simple as that. what is worth something is what is rare. But are brodeur jersey rare? Are Carey Price jersey rare? No Once you have a few do you still want all of them? No. At some point collector just get out because they finnaly realise it's going no where. Only true collector will stick in. Too bad but that is the reality. When jersey and auto started they were rare enough and now they are not. Add the one produce in the past 12 years and you start to see rarety is not the case. Look at Patrick Roy, the player with the most card, even my inventory have a big now because there is too many cards of him and will have to break some operation after 5,000 cards because it too much to process in one action...
I mean it's crazy and look at how fast player like Carey price, 5 years in and getting close to 2000 cards. It's crazy, how do you want colloctor to follow. I loosen up collecing him because I can't keep up. Simple as that, even the bigger collector just feel it too costly to collect a player. You can never have all cards but to not even be able to maintain a percentage of the cards buying the cheapest one is just crazy.
If there was much less release, we would have time to collect the one we need but release 22 a year is just crazy. Add ITG and it's even more crazy, they make like 10 more release, so we are at like 32 release a year, getting close to one release a week...
How can collector have some fun if even if you put a lot of money, you get the impression you are walking backward. Look at the prices they ask. Just make less and less sense.

Jersey cards will all soon sell for 99 cents, most of the Plumbers are not going for 50 cents now.
The Laundry Tag insanity has me laughing like a Hyena. People paying upwards of $500 and as much as $2,500 or more for a laundry tag on a card???
Mindless........

What about shields???? 1/1!!!! Except they're in every edition of The Cup and then in Dominion, so now there's multiple 1/1's of the same player. The answer to THAT??? Double shield cards!!! "Booklets" full of patches and jerseys and skates and fight straps and used gum!!!!
Meh.
