Well, if you actually take a look at it, it was a clear case of kneeing. And it's always 5 mins (at least in the IIHF rulebook) when a player's injured because of that. Getzlaf got what he deserved, don't understand what he's done to get that C.
A very un-Finnish end to the USA-FIN game, Go Finns!

It was a knee, and it's a five minute penalty in international play. The refs are not to blame, Canada blew this one.

Getzlaf didn't stick his knee out tho? The other guy jumped out of the way and ran into Getzlaf's leg. I don't think Getzlaf could have not hit him without jumping in the opposite direction himself.

The penalty was clearly a 5 minute major for kneeing. Even if it was only 2 minutes the Slovaks scored 3 seconds into the PP and there was only around 3 minutes left in the game.
Ugh! Czechs just scored with 30 seconds left to make it 4-3! Sucks for Sweden. Now they have to score just to tie it up. Dang it!

if you play as arrogant as Sweden you deserve to lose. also, they play in front of half empty stadium at home championships, sad but true

Finland lost to Russia today in the first semi-final of the 2012 IIHF World Championship, 2-6.
In a few hours it's Czech Republic against Slovakia in what looks like a very exciting game.
