So Canada gets Slovakia in the quarters, while the U.S. gets a rematch with the host Finns. Both of the games in this group should be exciting.
I'd expect the Russians to beat Norway pretty handily unless Thoresen can continue his torrid output, while the Sweden-Czech Republic matchup could make for an exciting game.

Italian defensemen Thomas Larkin has been a friend of mine for the last 8 years or so, and he's really excited about playing for the national team this year (he lives in America but is Italian born)

And we're out.......no world title since 2007, no under-18 since 2008, and no World Junior title since 2009. Another failure, very disappointing.
I don't know where we should rank in the world right now, but we're definitely not number one.

Well watched the game and Canada was dominating but 2 penalties in the last 5mins made the slovak the winners.
To bad was looking forward to a Sweden-Can game in the semifinals(if sweden wins ofc)

Canada dominated most of the game. The Canadians were facing Laco at his best as he really performed well. The Slovaks had only a few chances, but they capitalized on them and won the game.
You're right about the penalties - especially Getzlaf's at the end of the 3rd was horrible. There was just no need for it.
Yes, I'm watching the game as well. At the beginning of the game I actually had a feeling that Norway would win. Now it doesn't seem too weird after all, but of course they haven't won the game (at least not yet). Enjoy the game!

i missed the Can - SVK game and maybe should be glad I did ... from what I read there was probably everything in place for a 5-0 win for Canada, and then somehow suddenly everything again fell in palce for some ™™™™ty win for Slovakia... hate to see them advance to the semis, where they will lose anyway..needless to say it screwed ally my bets on bwin :-D

Team Finland grew spiritually from the previous game against team USA and former Islanders forward Jesse Joensuu hit twice against USA.
We are alive! The battle continues on saturday against Russia!
GO FINLAND GO!
