Would be nice to see Bieksa in a TC Jersey and keeping the Europes honest when they think about one-handed Hockey.

He's been playing hurt for about a month. Even if they would invite him I highly doubt he'd go.

Yeah, I realized he played hurt. He's better than 98% of all NHL Defensemen when they are 100 %.

    He'd love that Big Ice.

i think that Sweden and Finland will probably update their rosters with a lot more NHL stars eliminated out of the playoffs ... they'll want to look good at their home tournament. and thumbs up for this thread

Good gosh Canada's roster (as expected) is stacked. It'd be nice to see some better additions to the U.S. roster but I do like seeing Cam Fowler on the roster! :)

from the Red Wings official facebook page

    Official Detroit Red Wings
Several of our players are expected to join their National Teams for the upcoming IIHF World Ice Hockey Championships in Sweden and Finland. Those already going include Henrik Zetterberg, Johan Franzen and Jonathan Ericsson (Sweden), Valtteri Filppula (Finland) and Tomas Tatar (Slovakia).

I don't think Howard will suit up. He was playing through an injury with his catching hand. He should be taking a rest.

I can see Schneider playing in net for the US.

Pretty sure the Sedins, and Kesler will be taking it easy for this off-season.

Best bet is Ballard and Booth. They need to play more and play a lot better.

Jim Howard will most likely play for team USA at the 2012 IIHF WCs. Detroit has announced that he's available for the tournament, so it's up to him.

You're right about that. Sweden has just gotten lots of talent in Zetterberg, Ericsson and Franzen. If they can add another good defenseman, I think they're going to be medal contenders this year.

Thanks for the thumb up regarding this thread!

Looks like Canada has added Patrick Sharp and Duncan Keith, meaning that we need only one more forward and defenseman, respectively.

I am liking the looks of this Canadian team, a nice mixture of youngsters and veterans. Hopefully this will help us fare better than in the recent past.

I have nothing against the NY Rangers, but the USA team can benefit greatly from their elimination.

Canada's roster definetly looks very strong on paper. It's a game of chemistry and team spirit, so no guarantees that they'll win, but the quality of their players certainly is good enough for them to compete for the gold at this year's World Championships.

Czech Republic's and Russia's partial rosters have been added. Denmark's roster has been updated.
