Thanks for the contest! Mine is Tom Brady because he went from a low draft pick coming from my favorite college team, to my favorite NFL team and became a superstar. Thanks :)

My favourite was super bowl 17 MVP, John Riggins, no one combined power and speed like "the Diesel", he was crazy on and off the field, from his mohawk hair cut to his army camo's to his quote after his one year break "I'm bored, I'm broke, I'm back !!" priceless. Got to meet him and he is just as classy off the field as he was tough on the field.

My favorite player is Aaron Rodgers...not because of the hype and flippability of his stuff, but because I truly felt that he was going to be special after that Cowboys/Packer game that he stepped in for an injured Favre in 2007. I stood by my conviction in his skills like a proud 'talent scout' and fended off the initial local haters that said he was soft, injury-prone and not the future Packers QB. My interest in his stuff pulled me back into this hobby in 2007 after taking a 8 year break and for that I'm very grateful. It's truly just been a fun ride to watch him develop and I feel like he's been nothing but positive despite all of the initial controversy.

    Thanks for the contest!

First off... Great contest. Loved reading everyones post as well as being able to share my opinion.
My favorite player is Larry Fitzgerald because he's not a image-obsessed athlete but gives the game & the Cardinals all he's got. Plus he spends most of the off-season doing charity work and spending time in 3rd world countries w/ less fortunate people. Never met him, but he seems like a hell of a good guy.

Thanks for the contest!! Hands down... Jerry Rice. Mississippi Valley State..Didnt tear up much in college, but played hard.. Slow in development early in SF(my only team) but after the best practice habits and offseason dedication of the game.... He became the greatest "NFL" player of all time. Thanks

    Sweet contest.
My Favorite player is Joe Flacco, came from a small school Delaware, has won in the playoffs in all his 4 years, and would have probably won the super bowl and killed all the criticism towards him if lee evans could catch. There is nothing better than the deep pass in the nfl, and he sure can rip it.

    Rod Smith WR Denver Broncos

Rod is my favorite player because he was always a "team first" kind of player. He's also probably the best UNDRAFTED WR in NFL history.

That hardly covers it, but it's a start.

Neat idea for a contest. Thanks!

For me, Brian Dawkins hands down. I never saw a guy play with so much heart. Love the "pump up" pre-game talks just as much as that hard hit or interception! I've been lucky enough to meet him more than once, and every time has been a joy. The guy was legendary on the field, and still is just as good off. It's to the point where he's not only your favorite player, he's your hero.

Just turned 18 recently, I'm going for my "Weapon X" tattoo soon...

    Thanks for the contest!

Since someone took LT, I will go with my second favorite. Keep in mind this is solely on football performance as both are pretty horrible people:

Dave Meggett: He was the consummate underdog, horribly undersized and only used for a couple plays a game, but whenever he was sent in you had to watch. While not as consistent by any stretch, he had moves like Barry and could bring a dead crowd right back into a game in a way that very few players could single-handedly do in a team sport like football.

And yes...he deserves all of the 30 years he is serving in prison.
