UD What To Do?
ok, so I sent a damaged card in awhile ago for a replacement (don't even remember what the card was.) they originally said they were going to ship the replacement out on july 13th 2012, and i called back on july 23rd 2012 to see if they had shipped or not, the guy on the phone told me it was marked as shipped and it should have gotten to me by then, but since it hadn't he was gonna re-ship it. they of course didn't ship either one with tracking. so i get a PWE from UD today... a frigging PWE... inside is a 09-10 artifacts autofacts Doug Wilson, in a top loader with no penny sleeve. behind that, 2 cards in a penny sleeve with no toploader, and a pack of NHCD USA cards, nothing interesting in the pack since i have the whole set, and the 2 cards in the penny sleeve taped between the pack and the toploader have shifted out of the penny sleeve, and are stuck to the tape. so i managed to wiggle them free, and inside are an 11-12 BD Gemography Oskars Bartulis, and an 11-12 OPC Souvenirs quad gu'd sabres. Now the best card of the 3 in my opinion would be the quad gu'd... and wouldn't you know it, it's frigging damaged... So my question, should I even try to get a replacement for it, or just bite it as a loss?

Is it me or is UD actually getting lazy? Not using penny sleeves for hards and PWE?

UD didn't even use penny sleeves in 99-00 let alone now. I have freaked out many times when getting back redemptions 12 years ago.
This is why I have not bought any Upper Deck manufactured products in Hobby Boxes since 2004.
They have lost a customer forever, and they still owe me a Redemption Rookie from 01-02 SPx.

UD is a total pain right now. I can't deal with them one bit. One day my redemption was shipped on the 5th of July, the next day it was on the 7th. Also their packaging is a nightmare. I don't think we are the "Valued Collectors" anymore...

People waiting for multiple artifacts cards had their cards shoved into a top loader with no sleeves.
i also sent a card to be replaced because it came out of the pack damaged and they ended up returning the same card with the same damage back to me.
their customer service and QA departments are full of ding dongs.

i called them to see if they would do anything about the damaged card, and they guy pretty much gave me the run around. i finally had enough of it, and instead of blowing my top, i told him i wanted to speak to a manager, so he transfers me to his manager, who he failed to mention is on lunch, and it sent me straight to her voice mail. i didn't leave one, i just called back, same exact guy, told me she's on lunch for an hour, to call back then. so i'm waiting to call right now

so just got off the phone with the manager, needless to say i got nowhere. I tried to be nice, but by the end of the call i told her where they could shove their customer support, and exactly what i thought of their company. I told her to take a look at online forums, about how many people are quiting UD and going with Panini and ITG. And now thats where I am at this point, that i wont be buying any more UD, and i'll be referring people I know to stay away from it as well.

Really UD is becoming more and more of a joke though Panini isn't that much better. Really annoyed with both companies. Should really not buy any boxes or packs. Waste of money and time. Between redemption cards and damaged cards and missing hits and bad boxes with 3rd/4th liners or minor league players/prospects that will never pan out it is quite frustrating. Even with what would be consider a great hit or a very nice hit, the card still doesn't sell that well compared to the price of a box.
The companies really don't seem to care enough about the collectors who actually spend hard earned money on their products and then get damaged cards or are missing hits.
