    The cup or Dominion?

I am picking my case of the cup this week. I want to know thoughts...Either a 2nd case of the cup or a case of Dominion? I hear the cup cut its production this year making it more desirable....Input/thoughts is appreciated!

The Cup cut it's production just like it has every other year. In other words, it hasn't. Same number of stuff as previous years if not more lol. It's personal preference. I like what Dominion has in store, and like the design better, but the Cup has the better resale on the higher end hits.

    +1 on Dominion.

I don't know when people will get their heads out of the sand and start valuing Panini products higher, but it's bound to happen sooner or later.

You've had your fun with The Cup, now see what the other guy can do for ya. All these 'we've cut our product runs' really just means we're raising prices. BUT you're asking for input, so I vote Dominion. Twice if I can have two votes :)

    +1 on this

Go with Dominion the design looks better and its cheaper while still offering the same caliber hits as The Cup.

Plus you may pull one of those SICK Gordie Howe's Panini has been flaunting in front of us the past month

Panini will face the same problems as ITG regarding value of their products. ITG never surpassed the value of UD in collector's mind, even if people complained a lot about UD's customer service. Sad but reality.

When they were licensed at the end of the 90's and earyly 2,000's UD couldn't compete with them. The 99-00 BAP Millennium and the preceding 98-99 BAP All-Star series were some of the finest cards ever manufactured. They still stand the test of time. You don't speak for me or thousands of others like me, that have enjoyed their cards and still do today.

You have no idea what problems Panini will face because you are far removed from the situation. You can only speculate and blindly guess like you are doing now.

98-99 BAP was and still my favorite all time. Emblems are sick. Auto game used emblems are nasty. Id love to find some wax.

As for dominion my thoughts are its nice but cup will double value in the end. Panini customer service sucks I got a redemption back and was damaged. I emailed them photos and they told me that it's all they can do and offered me a rnh x499 when my redemption was for x99 ™™™. Horrible

I admit freely to LOVING the Dominion look this year - but I still feel they overdo the parallels and at least last year, there were too many second-tier autos and far too many jerseys to provide the value that price point should command. I think this year's Cup is exceptional and the breaks (I've already done a case and a half and watched probably ten others) have been absolutely ridiculous. I don't see how Dominion will hold up dollar-wise again this year, which is not always the consideration, but if it is, The Cup is still king.

Just my 2 cents, but The Cup will probably always reign supreme. Since its creation it has not been touched by another high end product by value/design ect..

    However...

In this years case, the price jump to me for the cup was startling. The last 4 years I've been able to buy a tin when the product first comes out for $335ish, this year, $500. That is a STEEP increase over the course of a year. That being said, they did seem to cut out a lot of the production, as just about every break I've seen has been at least solid if not very nice. For me and most others though, it does not justify spending the additional $160.

For that reason, I will probably buy a box of Dominion to satisfy my very high end craving for the year. It won't be the same as The Cup in my mind, but for the price I'm hoping it's the better choice.
