How can we honestly compare two products when Dominion is not out yet.
On paper who looks better? Well that is all subjective. It's whether you are a UD fan or a Panini fan.
With images? Well people were on a frenzy when the saw Cup images for the first time (on the day of the Prime release). On the day of the Cup release there was another frenzy on Dominion cause they released their images.
Which product is better will only be known a month after the Dominion release. We have to see how it is in the market.
We haven't even broken a single box yet lol.
Anything before that is nothing more than bandwagoning imo.Last edited by Yipper; 09-14-2012 at 06:24 PM.

Depends on your preferences
1) do you want as much as possible of your box money back?
2) do you want the chance to a super super $$$$ hit?
3) do you mainly concern yourself with looks, design and quality?
If 1, Dominion if we consider an average basic box. Like I've said before, I did my research, and at least from when Dominion dropped in price a bit, Dominion consistently on a basic crappy average box, was slightly better value than the Cup. And since the price difference is already there from the beginning now, when Cup tins cost 500-570, there's no chance in h*ll you get more in percentage with an average Cup box no matter what the fanboys will tell you.
If 2, The Cup by far! It has megahits no other products ever comes close to, no other product may contain a multi thousand dollar card. But on the other hand, I have never pulled one, and most never will. And even if you buy 7 cases it's unlikely you will. But if you want that huge gamble feeling it's the right choice... (though I don't understand that reasoning, you buy a $500 lottery ticket for an extremelty small chance of pulling a 10x value of the lotteryticket price?)
If 3, this go personal taste, up till last year I always considered the Cup undefeated champion in quality, but when I opened Dominion I felt instantly that thick is not = quality, it suddenly felt old, like stoneage. Dominion is slick, modern, and with plain fantastic design. So if you're a cardlover who want beautiful cards with great design, want chance at some HOFers, and aren't a rookie-junkie, the choice is simple. Yeah you might get some annoying parallells, but just consider those as bonus, it's 10 cards in each box, if you get 4-5 annoying cards, who cares, you still got the core hits left.
However, a little sceptical this year. On paper it looks like they have ruined the Peerless patches, hope not, but it looks like it on the pics I've seen. The design is off balance and nowhere close last year. Probably because everybody screamed there must be an auto on it (WHY?), so they put an auto on it. (Thank you everybody who can't appreciate a fantastic patch-only card). I see other questionable designs as well, mostly because they've lost their unique look from last year and try to look more like the Cup, which may please the mainstream crowd, but not real Dominion fans. We'll see.
