I wish that ITG would get a license to make NHL cards as they make some of the sickest looking patch and even jersey cards. But then again, with a license comes big time payments for the license, usually they means quality sufferes for quantity to make up for it. Which could mean those sick looking cards become more rare. But this really has nothing to do with the thread lol

I go with Dominion. It will probably be at its cheapest point now until the Wholesalers & LCS run out of The Cup then the price point will be higher.

Just my 2 cents, but The Cup will probably always reign supreme. Since its creation it has not been touched by another high end product by value/design ect..

    Right on here.

That being said, they did seem to cut out a lot of the production

Since 05/06 up until last year there has never been another company with an NHL license. It's pretty hard for another company to rival it when there was no other company. Dominion after its first year was better than most of the previous cups as some of them were pretty bad case by case.

Production was not cut short this year. They added another parallel this year plus the rookie evolutions. Talking to some people back home, their cases' top hit wouldn't be in the top 6 of other cases. Don't get me wrong, a lot of the cases are pretty nice, but talking to others who went to smaller shops and to the shop I go to, they got nothing in comparison. They have been a powerful kick to the jewels.

3 guesses as to the only thing standing in ITGU's way of getting a license. The first clue...... He's almost 5'3" in lifts.

For some reason, this terrible corporate decision is personal, it's has nothing to do with what ITGU is offering the NHLPA and the League.

I would have made the same choice.
The Cup looks so ordinary this year, it's striking. The Quality Control pics Panini's shown for Dominion shows artistic sense.

Good decision! You *will* break it on here, right? ;)

Just one person's opinion here, but to me the 11-12 cup cards leave a lot to be desired. There's really nothing special about them, same old stuff. For my money, the best set this year is the Panini Prime.. love the designs and it seems like they are trying to pull the best card styles from other sets (nameplates from sp gu, quad auto parallels from cup, etc). the ties cards are a flop, but at least they are trying new things - which makes them more attractive than the same cup, different year.

I am actually kind of glad the cup is mediocre this year; i wont have to dump a bunch of money into it and i can focus on completing older sets :)
