This is the galling part:
If you have your receipt from the purchase and not the UPC, we will be able to honor a 1 time courtesy replacement for your card. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to let us know.
Contact BBB, send another letter this time with a CC to your Lawyer stating your willingness to take them to task. Do not stop, …..ever.

I feel for you man and Hopefully you can find a way to get this card replaced. Even though they may be a pain to communicate with sometimes, I still think this is the best policy for Upper Deck. I've had this situation happen to me before with a Gonchar/Markov /15 Patch from a pack of Artifacts. Nothing comparable to the Huberdeau, but Upper Deck failed to replace it because I had no receipts/codes for the packs I bought. Whenever I buy packs/boxes now, I always keep the receipts and UPC codes.

As will I but my question to them is more what do you do at a show when they don't give out a receipt. (or like at the expo where you have to turn it in to get your redemption)
I don't have a LCS near me but I assume it is the same rule with retail so anybody with this problem could go and buy a pack at Walmart and send in the pack and receipt. I am just looking for what I should do in future show's. I guess I will have to open the boxes slow and double check everything before I walk away.
I was angry but now I am more annoyed than anything lol

You said you live in the Ottawa area; I can name like 5 LCS's in the surrounding area as I live in the area as well.

So can I but every one of them would take me 1/2 hr to 45 min to get to. Ottawa area is a large area lol
I got this from them today
Hi Chris,
Our policy requires proof of purchase for replacement. We can perform a 1 time courtesy transaction if 1 of these items are missing, but we may not assist with both. If you would like to send us a scan of both sides of your priority signing, we may consider the card as receipt for a box and assist with such a courtesy. This will be a 1 time assist. We will require both a receipt and UPC code for any further exchanges.
Sincerely,

Hope they do help you out. I understand (and totally agree) with the proof of purchase thing..... I suspect that with the UPC, they can figure out what batch it was, who to start blaming for the damage.
In this case, doing it @ the Expo, it does add a further layer to the mess. Sounds like they will work with you - which is good.

Yikes. Sounds like a lot of hoops to jump through for a simple replacement. I can understand that it's policy and all that, they have to abide by the rules that they themselves set out...but wow what a pain. Hope it can get sorted bud.

You do not need to give then the wrappers or empty box to get the Priority Signings all you have to do is open the box and the packs in front of the rep. I open the box take out the packs pop open the top of the pack and stack them in the box.
This allows me to ask (nicely) if I can do 2 boxes. The answer usually is yes as I take less time opening 2 boxes than people who look at each card does to do one. I can then look at what I got away for the booth.Last edited by Gibby; 11-15-2013 at 03:35 PM. Reason: spelling

Whenever I have sent cards into UD since they didn't bother to ship my 01-02 SPx Shawn Thornton Redemption, I have always sent a nice computer generated letter, with a kind note, that I will be the one to determine whether or not you have replaced my cards adequately, and as always I have a
cc: My Lawyer and Law Firm
On the bottom after my signature. They have never said anything about "One Card, One-Time Courtesy", and after many telephone conversations, have adequately replaced anything I have ever sent.
I have sent cards to Upper Deck 10 different times since 2003, some of the lots had more than 15 cards, everything was replaced to my liking.
As I said before, the onus is on you. Do not stop, do not relent.
