Panini Reveals Checklists, Images for 2012-13 Redemption Programs
http://paniniamerica.wordpress.com/2...e-redemptions/
After many months of intrigue, anticipation and buildup regarding the identities and designs of the 45 Rookie Redemption Cards randomly inserted into 2012-13 Certified Hockey and 2012-13 Limited Hockey, Panini America officials today are ready to reveal specifics on some of the most in-demand hockey cards of last season.
Most collectors will recall that Panini America inserted 15 Rookie Redemption Cards into 2012-13 Certified Hockey (for individual players) and 30 Rookie Redemption Cards into 2012-13 Limited Hockey (for specific teams) as a way to capitalize on the excitement of the 2013-14 Panini Double Rookie Class. Now that the 2013 NHL draft picks have had time to make their mark on NHL ice, Panini America’s NHL product team has constructed custom checklists for both redemption programs combining the top rookies from 2012-13 and 2013-14.

Interesting move to cram all the rookies on a team on one card. I guess that solves the problem of getting the wrong guy! Not sure that I like it though, as a holder of one of the Montreal redemptions - a lot of Galchenyuk collectors might decide they don't really need this particular card.

The Limited cards aren't rookie cards, to bad.

They were always going to be XRCs, but I thought at least they would be of a single player. Also after waiting this long (much much much longer than for Artifacts), I thought the cards would be cooler.

Personally I think its a joke. It took this long and none are autographed. I don't like having multiple rookies on the same card. The certifieds are numbered to /99 which I like. I thought the Limiteds would be autographed though.

Have to admit I would be disappointed too if I pulled one of those redemption cards from Certified. The card is just a parallel card /99!?!?! One of the nicest things about certified was the Freshman Fabrics...you got auto and mem. Even the Freshman Signatures were nice with the auto and they were limited. I think Panini should have put a sticker auto on and limited the cards to /99. Hey...at 99 cards...why not go the extra distance and make them REALLY nice and make them hard signed. There was definitely enough time to do that! But since Certified is now a dead product, maybe that is why :(

I had thought that the delay was because Panini were making Auto or Mem cards, not because they were waiting for rookies to play in the 2013-14 season, so I was surprised to see these cards. Couldn't they have been done much sooner, like the Artifact redemptions?

Go figure, Panini is not doing well lately in the decision they take IMO. Now last year I pulled the R10 from certified and look at the player I get, no auto mem and really not lucky with the player I got. What a deception... and the card are ugly...

These were added as extra bonus hits. The Certified and Limited programs still provided the announced number of hits per box when you got these. And for those that think XRC rookie redemptions require jerseys and autos for value forget the 04-05 SPA redemptions as well as the BAP ones. They weren't planned or packed out as Freshman Fabrics or Limited Phenom autograph redemptions. They were just rookie redemptions as stated on the redemption cards.
We were also happy to provide players from both rookie classes which ultimately led to the longer delay. We were able to include the top 15 rookies for Certified from both classes rather than just use the top 15 from the 12-13 debuts. And for collectors who were unhappy getting a Colorado or San Jose redemption from Limited last year, hopefully the addition of players like MacKinnon and Hertl will help them feel better about their pulls.

It seems funny to me that a 2012-13 product will have players that didn't play (or were even drafted) during that season on cards. So how about we put Connor Mcdavid on cards from 2013-14 even though he wont be drafted till 2015.
