No, I mean "better than" as in you think you're the yardstick for society. I'm not the one bragging about how great I am, I did everything right, and everyone should be just like me whether they had my life or not, yet I'm the one accused of self-flattery.

First off this would be a much better conversation and stay on topic better if you responded to the whole post instead of picking out one statement you don't agree with and turning it. Second this whole topic is based on Wal Mart and I simply stated you should not have kids if you cant afford them. If you are not financially responsible you should not have kids. I know people will but if the parents are financially irresponsible and cannot afford them how do you think the kids will turn out? At some point someone has to be responsible for themselves instead of deflecting the blame to someone else right? It isn't that hard is it? Live within your means, don't buy things you cant afford, go to work every day and do your best while there. It is not a hard concept. If you choose to sit on the couch and eat Cheetos I am fine with that. But having kids or even a dog at that point is irresponsible and a drain on society

Beat me to it lol. Its a different world these days and a certain section of this population seems to think it should be given to them. that somehow it's their right. I was watching a movie the other day and just had to shake my head. Cinderella man. Braddock goes in to get aid from the gov't. He takes it, get's a couple fights and goes back and pays it back. There's really not alot of that left in this country/world. It used to be , if you were struggling, you'd feel bad about it and do everything you could to get out of it.
Now, the narrative is that the rich are evil and they have taken everything from you. The class warfare that is being sold is ridiculous.

I agree. I waited to get married until I was mid/late 20's trying to be more financially responsible. We don't have kids now because I don't think I'd want them to have to deal with this society.
As far as small business, you are right there. I'm one of the few, if only one, that I know of that offers both to my full timers.

Also lack of family. The biggest problem IMO.

Try having one without the other and see how far that gets you.

What does that have to do with anything? Maybe they should know their role rather then abusing it and creating this dependent class. How's that "war on poverty" going? Just ask Lbj. He knew what he was doing when he said "We'll have these voting for us for the next 200 years".
Gov't is not the solution. Never has been, never will be.

It has to do with the comment I was replying to. You cannot have a "society" without government. It's impossible. Their "role" is a matter of opinion. It surely isn't what YOU say it is.

Again, it has nothing to do with what I said. Their role is what the founders of this country said it should be. I guarantee my view is worlds closer then yours.
