Everyone's situation is different. Everyone's starting point is different. Everyone's culture and skin colour is different. Everyone's initial opportunity is different.

I am not down-playing the essence of hard work, what I am trying to shed light on, is that the personal opportunity is not the same amongst individuals, and one example cannot apply to all in society.

Success is not and has never been guaranteed. Everyone's level of success also differs. But everyone, regardless of any of those situations, has opportunity. Gov't shouldn't be involved in picking winners or losers. It should get out of the way. But I guess if you want to advocate socialism, everyone can be equally miserable. Seems to be where we are heading.

People like me are the majority in my country and we do not have YOUR issues. Might want to re-think that. As for YOUR framework being the "best created"; that can only be claimed by someone who has no idea about the other systems throughout the world.
