Vintage cards are very expensive too. Again, I do not have the resources for those.

I have a few cards that are older than 1980 but I was extremely lucky to get them.

He is already under contract till the end of 2014-15...one year left at $2.9 million.

Is he worth more? I have thoughts on this, but this is a topic for another thread; if someone wants to post that thread, go ahead.

I agree. SP Authentic is my main collecting objective. Reilly Smith and Casey Cizikas are still haunting me. I have given up on both. I was fortunate enough to acquire a Reilly Smith rookie from The Cup. No luck finding a decent Cizikas rookie yet.

/999 is just becoming to high of a number for a print run. Honestly id have two print runs /499 and /799. Help the value out a little. I dont think you kill cheap value wise dropping it to /799 on certain players. You need some value not overproduction.

Leave that to SPx and keep it there.

The tiered rookie idea is horrible.

As was stated a few times in this thread, the appeal of SP Authentic is that they are limited, but not so limited that the values/asking prices are ridiculous.

Yes, the value would increase, but this is a hobby, not a business venture. If you are into collecting to profit, this isn't the avenue to pursue.

Even if they were to just drop it down to 799. It gets rid ofb200 non needed autos. 799 is high enough for a print run and it keeps it cheap. 999 is overkill. Added benfit to making 799 is you can put an extra few players in the set to help nake itbthe 3 autos per box. Even though this is panini im mentioning, you can easily see how easy it is to find an auto /800 /999...so 799 wont hurt at all

Im not exactly in it for the profit. Looking to get my moneys worth back. Also if for some reason I needed to sell my collection, I want cards that will bring something in and not lousy $1-2 autos
