I won't be buying boxes because I cannot afford it. I will focus on acquiring individual rookies from the set.

Yes and will trade or sale some of the players you are interested in. I may bust a case depending on how it looks.

It looks like a case of this is pretty much set at 1,200. $120 a box. You could get killed on this product for that price but it is worth a roll of the dice.

This is precisely why I do not buy boxes/cases. You may enjoy opening the boxes but you are wasting an extraordinary amount of money.

That's fine for those who buy boxes. I do realize that without those box and case-breakers there would be no chance for other collectors to acquire cards.
That said, if you are buying boxes and are continually disappointed by the results or (in my case) you cannot afford to buy boxes, it is best to stay away from box or case-breaking and focus on acquiring singles from those who can afford to buy boxes/cases.
