What is a "profiteer" in your eyes? What do you expect to get these cards for? I have many high end rookies, that are just like stocks ...... pick them up while they are low, and sell them when they are high. Ive seen a ton of Lundy Cup RCs listed as of late ... more in the last week than within the last year. Are the profiteering? How about price stuff? How about Subban stuff? Its not profiteering. Its smart. Buying cards low, and selling them during playoff time if they get hot. Just because people dont collect like you, doesnt mean they are doing it wrong or for strictly money making reasons. I buy for my PC, but am always on the hunt for deals so I can flip later. Thats what the hobby has evolved to, as there is so much product and so many singles .... who couldnt use an extra buck here and there for their PC? Especially by getting these extra dollars within the hobby.
Also, your comment as to the AO and Sid FW Au RCs dont make any sense. You dont want these cards in the hands of "collectors". Collectors have them for 1 reason, to collect .... to stay in their PC. "Profiteers" on the other hand, wont be profiteering on those guys any time this season. SPA AOs are CHEAP AS HELL right now, I can almost guarantee you no one is making money off him right now ... unless its going to die hard PC guys with very rare cards. Every single Sid SPA just lost all the band wagon buyers tonight ..... most likely dropping all his prices a bit until next season rolls around.
Id really like to know tho, what a decent price in your opinion is for the pair you talked about. If you arnt willing to buy the cards at the going rate of ebay ..... then im sorry to say that no one here or on ebay is going to take a loss on 2 high end cards like that, and you will be searching for a very, very long time.

First of all I will answer your question 'What is a "profiteer" in your eyes?'
Your next statement answers that question. You said 'I have many high end rookies, that are just like stocks ...... pick them up while they are low, and sell them when they are high.'
Too many people look at card collecting as 'investments'. If you buy the cards just to try and make a profit, you are a profiteer. If you buy boxes/cases of high-end product so you can put it on ebay and try to make money, you are a profiteer. However, if you buy high-end products and put them on ebay just hoping to recoup the money you paid, you should probably just shy away from that product. If you are concerned with profit and loss, it is usually a losing proposition.
I am a hobbyist. Not a collector, not a profiteer. I don't give a flying fig about ebay. Never have, never will. I deal with book value. I don't care about profit/loss. I don't acquire cards to keep them forever. This is just a fun hobby for me. When I get all the cards on my list, I will hold on to them for a year or two and sell them with the hopes of getting a decent offer.
If I am buying a card, it has to be at a fraction of the BV because I live on a fixed income. How high that fraction is would depend on how high the BV is. In the case of Crosby and Ovechkin, I have to know the value of those before I could make an offer. If a person is intent on getting full value, I might bite the bullet and do that, but I would have to save up and send installments. That person would have to be very patient with me (and I do mean very patient).
If values drop on Crosby/Ovechkin, that's good for me. I might be able to afford them now.

June 18th? If so, what about Ultimate Collection release date?

If SPA has been pushed back to June, Expect Ultimate in July or August.
At this rate, fans of The Cup had better hope it will be out in time for Christmas.

Not a chance. With the exclusive, The Cup getting out on time will be a priority. I think UD has a lot to prove with SPA given that its the first major product post exclusive. They want to limit redemptions as significantly as possible.
