I think the letter is a great idea.

    Yeah! I'm out $75 myself.

Mods (or anybody), is there a way I can print out this thread in text mode (as a Word doc or something similar)? I don't want to have to send 50-60 pages.

Tutall is correct. Paypal will do nothing if no funds are available. All they will do is suspend the user (Korn) and if any money (good luck) ever enters his account it will be held and dispursed in the order of the claims. In short everyone is out their money. Everyone should escalate to a claim immediately so you can procede the legal route ASAP.

Personally I would go the parent route first. If you do not get any help from them then ONE PERSON get all the information from everyone who got scammed and contact the local police department. The police Department will ask for all the information and will contact Zach and his parents. This is internet fraud and will be taken seriously. This is the way we handled it in the eight years I was on Beckett when a mass scammed occurred. if I can be any more help let me know. Good luck to you all.

I have written a letter to his parents and will be mailing it today. Let's wait 7-10 days and if I get no reply (via phone or email) we can pursue it through the police. I gave them links to the website as well as my phone numbers and email address. I didn't print out the thread because it would have been over 50 pages long.

I agree that we should call them, but I think bmoy's doing it right. If we call them without giving them any proof, then they might just dismiss us right off the bat. I think if we don't hear back from them, we should call them before going to the police. We can always tell them that the police are our next option, and see what happens from there.

I too, have sent a letter to the parents. I wanted to provide them some hard evidence from my paypal claim. (No worries, Bmoy, i was diplomatic.) Anyway, I haven't heard anything yet. Does anyone else have any info? If I hear anything, I will be sure to pass it along.

Well, no response from the parents to date... they should have received both letters by now. Does someone want to call them??

BTW--- Any Mods out there made any contact??

I am 20 minutes outside of New Bern, NC, this guy seems like a prime candidate for an old-school ™™™ kicking.
