My images migration is in process...
Migrating to my existing Flickr account (used to be my photographs sharing album)
Sorting system is so different from PB, still trying to figure how the best I should sort all the images....

    My Flickr photostream

    Sorted into 3 collections...
    Cards-FT
    Cards PC

    Here's a BBCode test:

Looks like this is going to be my LINK (just for cards):

    Am I doing it right?

I haven't been on here in a while so just seeing this thread. I gotta say I never much liked how slow PB seemed when viewing it. Paying may relieve the creator from ads but the average user who clicks on your link gets blasted. Being an Android user, I must give a second recommendation for Google Photos. Super easy to create albums and a drag and drop re-order interface. Very quick! I can't see a way to search someone's archive for a specific player or anything, but I don't see how you could do that with PB or Flickr either. You just have to manually create specific albums I guess???

I spent an hour last saturday setting up a google photos account for my cards only to find out I can't embed them on any forums. The pictures don't show up.

Who still uses a scanner or photobucket? I agree, when I see a photobucket link in a trade discussion, I skip it entirely as it is not worth my time unless it is a very special card. I normally just put a link to an IG post when discussing cards.

Uhh, most people on the forums used photobucket. Your post comes off as condescending, which is ironic since you are pretty new to this forum.

I've received two emails since last night from PB asking for lots of money to use 3rd party hosting. I sent a very snarky response back to them. Likely going to download everything and delete my account since I haven't used the site itself in many years.

Amazing how many things have changed in the hobby in the past few years. When I started, we all used it and forums were the be-all, end-all for online trading. haha

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

On Flickr, if you put a player name and team name into the title of each image people would be able to use search to sort them.

Quick tip - changing titles in Flickr is a little slow. Before uploading, change the images' file names in Windows Explorer.

Ya know.. Web hosting and a domain are relatively cheap and far more flexible than Flickr or Photobucket. Many of them come with one-click installs allowing you to create your own galleries. I use my own web hosting combined with Google Drive.. If I need to hotlink an image, I just push it to my domain and post away.

I really appreciate Google Drive for the ability to use spreadsheet and images together. Google Drive is ad free and blazing fast for image slideshows even though you can't hotlink an image.

To anybody unwilling to CTRL-F a tradelist, you're just lazy.. I spend significantly more (wasted) time looking through buckets than searching tradelists, organized or not. Just imagine the days of trading in the late 90s on the Usenet... Also, don't forget the forum search function doesn't work with image filenames, if you're trying to search through a forum for a particular player or keyword - you'd be out of luck unless everybody captioned each and every image. It's easy to miss cards when everybody does it differently.

Most lists are poorly constructed or fraught with typos. I'm a team collector, most people don't list the team name so I'm left searching every Blues player to have ever played for the team... not a good system.
I prefer buckets, but well thought out lists with team names work too.

I never go through trade lists. I collect Penguins and HOF Autos That's a million names to be searching. Plus I also collect FWAs and other rookie autos of good players. Its 10x easier to just look through a flickr or photobucket versus a list. Most people will trade for things they like not just what they collect.
