Tampa is adding to their Stanley Cup caliber team and going to put Leafs out in the first round. How does that make you feel? Another first round knock-out.
Seriously though the Giordano pick up is great. Toronto does have a sick team and they seem to play with a lot of cohesion. I'm sure the fans and the attention that surround Toronto Maple Leafs at all times brings out the best in some people. Maybe this bunch are those people. Maybe they play with such cohesion and put enough emphasis into their game to get over their slump of first round knock outs and continue the surge once the monkey is off their back. Ya know how nuts the streets of Toronto would be if they won the cup? I cannot imagine... but I can get there in less than 2 hours so sign me up!
Even if they made it to the finals every game you would see packed streets. Probably 50x worse than the Mayweather Paquiao fight. I saw people and cars driving up to the bar/restaurant I was at, outside just because they had a large-screen TV outside. It would be nuts. It would be great. It would be great for business and the future of the Leafs.
They need this. They CAN do this. Perhaps Giordano, who is from Toronto, is exactly what they need to beat either Tampa of Florida in the first round.Master List: Hidden Content

Tampa and FLA are ahead of the Leafs and for the Leafs to beat them them something needs to go wrong with them. Ekblad being out long term could help the Leafs chances if that happens, but Tampa is locked and loaded and ready to make another run for a Cup and I want no part of them in the first round.
They are talking about even if the Leafs were to fall into a wild card and face the Canes and how that would be a favorable match up for us too with Freddie facing the ghosts of the Scotia Centre. Regardless, the Leafs are better and I don't think Dubas is done. It looks like he is clearly trying to make this team tougher and better defensively and that's all as fans we can ask for.
Lindholm makes no sense to me at all. He is making more than Rielly I believe, but then again he took a home town discount. A prospect, two picks and a d man is just a lot to me for a guy that sure will play in your top two pairs, but someone that hasn't been proven to make that big a difference when push comes to shove. 6.5 mill too, but then again with the money that was being thrown around at d men last off season (Jones et al) maybe 6.5 mill is a discount?

The trend at this year's deadline is focusing on chemistry and acquiring players that have ties to the teams they were traded to. Calgary did that by getting Jarnkrop and the Leafs did that with getting Gio. Everything I have heard about him this morning leads me to believe that he is super excited to be here and provides all the intangibles the Leafs need and his play on the ice is infectious to everyone on the team. Good news for sure!

Gotta luv an optimist!! In reality the Leafs will be Bullied right out of the 1st round like every other year. This team is too Soft to win in the Playoffs. 5 years in a row of utter disappointment. How they cant win a series with the guys we have is beyond me. They couldnt even beat Columbus or Montreal, the teams we should have beat. so how anyone thinks we are going to beat Florida, Tampa or Carolina is a complete joke at best!! This team Will NOT win again this year, we cannot win with Dubas & half the players on this team. Best case scenario, Leafs lose in 1st round & both Dubas & Shanny get Fired.
Did Harold Ballard get reincarnated & now owns the Leafs again?? Sure seems like it!!
All in all this team is a Regular Season Talent & thats about it!!

Well, lets see what Leafs team we get tonight vs the Devils. They played last night & scored 7 Goals against the Rangers & Sheshterkin, not an easy task at all!! Is Kallgren Starting? I hope so!! I was hoping someone would claim Mrazek off waivers for us but no luck!! Would you want him on your team lol?
Matthews & Marner are going to have Big nights tonight!! It will be interesting to see what our D-Core will look like now. Hopefully with Giordano we can get back to how we looked in the 1st half of the season.
Go Leafs Go!!

Can't quite place why the Leaf's are looking so good tonight?
Would be even better if they turned their jerseys inside out, and changed the leaf logo to a B...
(actually if the reverse side the gold was red than at least it would have looked like a Team Canada jersey)

The Leafs side of this new alternate jersey ain't bad. I like it! The Bieber Drew House reverse jersey is..... meh, not my thing. But good for trying something new I guess? The Maple Leafs want their own court side Drake I suppose with Justin Bieber's involvement.

The reverse side is terrible let's be real! lol. Awesome performance by the boys tonight and Mrazek came up with a much needed good outcome. Gio looked good as well and Mikheyev continues to do well with his speed and finish. You know it's a good day when Engvall scores too! Let's make it back to back with the Raptors tonight!

Yeah I turned on the game last night and they looked like they were all black until they zoomed in. They look good. Matthews and Bieber are good buddies so that's how it goes I guess. Probably good for marketing to an even bigger audience.

Scrolling through Facebook this morning I see all the Leafs sites talking about what a great game the Leafs played last night. What game were they watching cause the game i watched vs the Devils was pretty bad. Leafs didnt even start playing until the 2nd half of the game. You would think that with 3 days off they would have been ready to go but that just simply wasnt the case.
Here's what i did like about the game last night. The Leafs D played much better in front of Mrazek. First game in forever Mrazek didnt give up at least 4 Goals. Now we have 2 days off before we play the Sucky Habs on Saturday. Leafs moved into 2nd place in the division, 1 point up on Tampa & 2 on Boston. This last month will tell the story for the Leafs. Coming up we have 3 Games vs Tampa, 3 Games vs Florida & 2 vs Boston including the Last game of the season that could make all the difference in the standings. Will be interesting to see how the Leafs do against these teams before the playoffs come.
